Breast Cancer Awareness Ribbon DIY Costume
I was trying to think of a great idea for a costume this year and a light bulb went off in my head. Knowing that October is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, I decided I would make a giant Awareness ribbon to show my support for this great cause! It is a scary fact that it affects 1 in 8 women, and every 3 minutes someone is newly diagnosed.
I wore this breast cancer awareness ribbon DIY costume to a contest and had people coming up to me and saying thank you because they were survivors! I received a lot of high fives and "Good Jobs". I was looking for something that was original and creative and I believe I found it.
I bought the ribbon material at a fabric store and sewed it in the ribbon shape, and used thin foam to hold the shape of it. I printed the words out on my printer and traced them onto the fabric then colored them with a marker. I attached the ribbon to my shirt with hot glue so that it would stay on and I was still free to move around and use my hands. It was fun making it, and its a great feeling wearing it around!

Up in Smoke Costume is really easy to make. It's a parody of a dumb redneck lighting up a cigarette at a gas station while pumping gas. All I did was buy an Old University of Alabama t-shirt and pants. (We are Auburn fans so I was picking on the Alabama fans.) You could use Nascar themed clothing as well. You get the idea.
I ripped up one side of the pant legs and shredded the same side of the shirt. I then used black body paint on the same side of my body to make it look like I was burned from smoke. I teased one side of my hair and spray painted black and painted the same side of my face. I borrowed an old gas nozzle from the gas station down the street and then shredded a cigarette like it had exploded.
This was a very cheap and easy costume and I won the work costume contest!
My girlfriend and I thought it would be funny if we went as the munchies and what better way then to actually have the munchies with us.
First I found the pouches that we have on our backs at the Dollar Store. Perfect. Then we found the drink shirts at Wal-Mart. Fill with snacks. Attached pouches to our backs and off we go. I printed out 'The Munchies" on the computer and spiraled some chenille stems and wrapped them around a headband.
