My daughter loves Jessie from Toy Story, so when she wanted to be her for Halloween I looked at the store bought costumes and wasn’t thrilled with them so I decided to make my own Homemade Child Jessie Costume. Went to the Fabric store bought cow print (for the chaps) yellow (for the shirt) and some red, black and white yarn (for shirt, pants, and hat).
First I took a pair of jeans and cut out the chaps (hint: Cut bottom at an angle). Sewed them onto the jeans. Added stripes of black yarn for the fringe. Next took a white button up shirt. Cut out the yellow fabric for front design (cut in 2 pieces), sewed them on either side of the buttons. Also cut out the cuffs. I took some red yarn and fabric glued it on to make the rope design (also could use embroidery needle). Did the same for cuffs. Added 2 big white buttons in the middle of the shirt to add a "Toy look". I bought an Indian Jones type hat from the Halloween store, spray painted it red whole punched holes around the brim and put white yarn through (going in and out). Braided a piece around the middle and down the side so I could tie it on.
Lastly I added a belt buckle. There you have Jessie!
I found the Woody shirt and hat at a thrift store. I bought a red fabric marker and created the grid pattern on the yellow shirt. I made the vest out of cow fabric from a craft store, and hot-glued the same fabric on my jeans for Jessie's chaps. I found a plain white button-up for Jessie's shirt at a thrift store, hot-glued yellow felt on, and used a red chord for the decorative loops. I also bought a cheap pack of large buttons and glued them on the front of both shirts. I found a pre-made wooden sheriff's badge at a local craft store that already said "Sheriff", so I just wrote Woody in cursive underneath it.
The belt buckles and boots were borrowed from some friends. You can't see it in the pictures, but I also made pull string circles from flexible plastic tubing (that I later spray-painted) and attached them to the shirts with elastic cord using hot glue.
This Woody and Jessie Adult Couple Costume was a tedious process and took an entire month, but the finished product was worth the effort. We won both costume contests that we entered!

I had a homemade Jessie Halloween costume idea, but all the ones in the stores were too covered up and boring! So I decided to get a crop top and some old jean shorts that I had. I bought the accessories which included the hat, belt, 2 sleeve cuffs and the bow for the hair. I didn't need the sleeve cuffs since I didn't wear a long sleeve so I decided to cut the red sequin design out and sewed it on to the crop top. I also bought a piece of cow fabric to sew on the shorts. It was super comfortable and I enjoyed wearing it. Everyone looooved the costume, I hope you guys do as well :)
