Halloween is our favorite time of year. This was the first year my youngest had not been an accessory to her sister’s costume. I always get giddy watching all those women dress up in their red hat lady outfits. Almost as if they were on their way to a witches convention.
We used a red pettiskirt that we already have in our closet and a purple coat from Pumpkin Patch that we also own. She had on a purple top from TCP. I found a perfect sized straw hat and used a red floral paint to color it red. I used a little bit of glue for the purple flower and added a red feather for a bit more flair.
The effect was one adorable little red hat lady. She collected a ton of ohhs and ahhs that year. We have created loads of homemade costumes but this was, by far, my favorite. The coolest Red Hat Lady costume ever!
