Coolest Homemade Corn Dog Costume

Homemade Corn Dog Costume

I am the corn dog and I've been bitten into, so the corn dog coating has been eaten off of the top and you can see the exposed hot dog that's inside the coating (that's my head, the wiener).

I Googled corn dog and noticed that most of the images only had mustard on them, so I only added mustard to the corn dog. I also added the stick, to make a more convincing corn dog and to try to avoid being confused with a hot dog.

I made this Homemade Corn Dog Costume out of foam from an upholstery store. I spray painted it and cut it to fit my body. I glued it together with a hot glue gun.

The head covering (hot dog part) was made from a paprika-colored thigh-high. I cut a hole for my face and then I painted my face the same color.

I also wore red high heels to make it sort of a "sexy" corn dog, just to be funny. I also thought the red heels could signify ketchup.

It was great! Everyone loved it! It was a little difficult to sit in, but I made due!

I made this Homemade Muffin Costume for Karneval 2011 in Germany. A friend of mine wanted to celebrate her birthday in Cologne on the Wednesday before Karneval. So I had to find something really nice and I allways loved those gigantic-something-costumes, and because I felt "pink" I thought about a strawberry-muffin.

First I made the hat. The base is some kind of Chinese-style hat which I made from carboard. Then I put on some frosting using foam which is used for doors or windows. Unfortunately I couldn`t find pink foam so I had to paint it pink and glue some topping on.

The muffin itself is a white cloth which I painted lines on and ironed it to gain this muffin-base look. Then I sewed a "collar" around, which I filled with the inside of two old cussions. Finally I made a short jacket out of some shiny pink cloth, because I didnt have a pink shirt. Then glued some topping on it an this was it. The little sugar hearts were bought, the big strawberry's were selfmade out of a funny material and finally the red sugar bits were cut off a glove for cleaning cars.

Coolest Homemade Blueberry Pie A La Mode Halloween Costume Idea

Homemade Blueberry Pie A La Mode Halloween Costume Idea

Homemade Blueberry Pie A La Mode Halloween Costume Idea

My son had a Homemade Blueberry Pie A La Mode Halloween Costume Idea this year for Halloween. I made it using the felt on a roll, polyfil, a glue gun, pinking shears, paint, balloons and ribbon. The ice cream was insulation caulking, a round newspaper ball for the "scoop" part and polyfil all wrapped up in masking tape. I measured out the correct size "triangle" (make 4) for his front and back, I stuffed it with poly fil and hot glued the edges shut.

On the front piece, I took some pipe cleaners and ran it across the top edge to form a wavy crust. I used the pinking shears to make the latice work crust and glued them on in a weaving pattern. I painted some blue in between each hole to look like the filling was oozing out. I eye-balled the balloons and attached them with safety pins to the inside (in case one pops, carry extra balloons and pins). He wore a blueberry on his head (a winter hat) and carried an icecream bucket to hold his candy, and the costume was a hit!!

Love this costume!

How creative and delicious too! At first I thought you must have used brown packing tape for the lattice work, but I see you made it from fabric, which sounds much nicer and more professional looking.

It looks much neater than the 'bunch of grapes' balloon-based costume. Berry berry smart.

Coolest Egg Costume 4

Egg Costume

Egg Costume

For this egg costume, I got a big piece of cardboard and cut an egg shape out of it. I then glued white felt (from dollar store) onto the front and back. I put a raised circle in the middle for the yolk and glued yellow felt on it.

On the back of my costume I put "STOP CRACKING ME UP" ...get it...an egg....cracking..

I won best costume twice that year :)
