Every Halloween I try to choose a costume that will attract as much attention as possible. My favorites have been slightly offensive- those are the best. This year I chose to make my costume fun and totally against the grain. I am a cat HATER!! Just don’t like them- they are not the pet for me… Also, as I get older, my friends tease me about being a homebody- so, I always joke about becoming the Crazy Cat Lady with no friends (this will never happen). So, I figured it would be easy to find a whole bunch of stuffed cats and put them all over a bathrobe, add a moo moo, and some curlers… HOT, HOT, HOT!!! I was a lot harder than I thought to find stuffed cats, so I added actual cat toys and cat nip to the costume. I let the cats do my make-up and hair, and let me tell you they did a GREAT JOB!! And if any watches the Simpsons, the two big cats that I’m holding are on bungee cords and I can throw them and they bounce back. This costume is phenomenal!!!
The Crazy Cat Lady costume was very easy to put together. Half of the costume was just old clothing that I was willing to sacrifice for the outfit. I used two old cotton long sleeved crew neck shirts layered for warmth (it gets really chilly in New England at this time of year) and a pair of sweatpants. The clothing was randomly slashed with sharp scissors, and I distressed the holes a bit for a worn-in look. I used brown makeup to "dirty" the clothes and did the same to my face to achieve a grubby effect.
I brushed my hair upside down and sprayed it with Got2b Glued Spiking Freeze Spray.
The cats are small Beanie Baby style plush animals that were safety-pinned to the shirt and pants. I held one of the kitties and walked around Salem, Mass. all night petting it as dementedly as I could.

Crazy Cat Lady Last Minute Halloween Costume
My Crazy Cat lady last minute Halloween costume was very easy and inexpensive. I went to thrift stores and that is where I found most of the cats and my outfit from. I found my hair accessories (I found clips with cats on them) at Walgreens and A Dollar store. I also found a few cats for very cheap at the Dollar store also.
I spent less then $20 on my costume... I wore slippers and Hello Kitty socks and I also had a cat attached to one slipper and Kitty toys (that I found in a package for cheap) on the other slipper.
I am a Hairstylist so I decorated my work station with cats, and a picture frame with a cat. I attached everything to me by safety pins. I added heavy makeup to give a bit more of that "Coo Coo" to the outfit....
