Homemade Computer Halloween Costume

by Sally
(Edmonton, Alberta, Canada)

Zach's Computer Costume 2010 -- This costume, to be honest, was not handmade by us. A couple of years ago we were in a reuse centre and my son, Zach, then 5 years old, was so thrilled to find this costume. He kept saying "I can't believe anyone would give this away!” It really was a great find. This year, when he finally made up his mind he would use it for his costume, I did have to spruce it up quite a bit by gluing tin foil over the spray painted box. We went with the shiny black long underwear underneath to give it a modern computer look. He had a great time wearing the costume at school...but it wasn't so good for gymnastics class. He got lots of compliments on it when going door to door Hallowe'en night. Everyone loves to see a unique, handmade costume.

Coolest Homemade YouTube Page Halloween Costume Idea 3

Well, you can't copyright anything nowadays, so I took a laptop, put it next to my home PC and via Microsoft word, made a template the best I could by using the shapes icon and using all the features (ex: shade, 3d, 2 tone colors, etc.) and used pics of myself for the related videos section (to the right). Then when all was done, I copied it to a flash drive, went to a print shop and had them print it on a 36x24" board. Then I cut out the "video box" and attached it with a box and straps.

How did you keep it attached to your body? Seems like it would fall down a lot.

Very creative

i have seen a lot of web page costumes (google/bing/yotube) and this is by far the best and most creative. Do you mind me asking how much it was to print on the board?

Would you be willing to share your work? I love the idea but I'm in no way talented enough to pull it off. Would you be willing to email me template? Thanks,
Josh

Coolest Myspace Costume

Myspace Costume

I wanted to find something original, so I browsed the internet for a good idea. I did not find anything that would be interesting to make, so I got bored of browsing and checked my Myspace page.

Than it hit me like a baseball in the head. Hey! I can be a Myspace costume! So, from an old TV cardboard box, some colored papers and a lot of duct tape I did this.

Total cost 2$ or less (for coloured pens).

Coolest Homemade Google Maps Costume

Homemade Google Maps Costume

Homemade Google Maps Costume

Hello I am Borja, from Madrid, Spain. Sorry for my poor English.

I made the Homemade Google Maps Costume with a white t-shirt painting with markers. The marker is made from cardboard magenta and elastic bands to hold it. I think I could have done better but I did it in a day and almost no materials. It is not going to win anything, but as an idea for a costume I think is fine.

Coolest Computer Virus Costume

Homemade Computer Virus Costume

This is a Computer Virus Costume I created for a party with the theme The Garden of Good and Evil.

The costume was created from a piece of large cardboard, $2 shop nerdy glasses and the nurse head band and stethoscope from an Adult nurse costume kit (with lacey bits removed) and printing thanks to the office colour printer!
