Here is an adult Homemade Buzz Lightyear Halloween Costume. The base of the upper body is a trash can which I cut with a razorblade. On top of the trash can I sculpted the armor with cardboard and duct tape. When I had the desired shape I covered everything in masking tape so I could paint it.

The large red button on the armor is made from a red plastic cup. I then used a battery operated candle to light up the cup. The purple strips on the lower part of the upper body are made from foam which I cut to the desired shape and attached with duct tape and then covered once again with masking tape. The gloves I created using dishwashing gloves and cups from Subway which I painted.

The bicep bands I created using foam sheets. The bands around the waist are insulation but could also be made with pool noodles. I put wire through the hollow center in the insulation in order to attach it to make it a circle so it would stay up. The wings are made from cardboard and I used brads to make them retractable.

Coolest Homemade Sexy Buzz Lightyear Costume 6

Homemade Sexy Buzz Lightyear Costume

Homemade Sexy Buzz Lightyear Costume

A sexy take on a classic character! I made my very own Buzz Lightyear costume complete with hand painted corset top and retractable wings. That's right, my wings actually work! I rewired some kids toy wings into my corset; hit the button on the front of the corset and the wings go in and out complete with lights and sound. I also added a laser pointer into my glove to act as my "ray gun" just like Buzz Lightyear would have.

The top began with a white store bought corset that I painted with soft fabric paint. This is different from "puff" fabric paint and actually allowed me to mix colors creating shadows and highlights to make it look more realistic. I finished off the costume with a pair of shorts, white fishnets and white heels.

The entire costume probably cost me around $80 when completed (not including the shoes) but has been more than worth it given the response. Definitely my favorite costume ever. To infinity and beyond!

Cute Idea!

This is super cute! A funny idea and it's sexy, not slutty like a lot of girls these days. Bet you win a TON of costume contests!

How did you make the wings??

Wings

As the post says, I bought the wings in the toy section at Target. I then did some work unscrewing the back and wiring the wings (which had a button that connected to a front panel that I removed) through the corset so they worked when you hit the button. I'm unsure if they still sell these wings or not. Before finding them I was going to make some, but found them instead.

Homemade Female Buzz Lightyear Costume

Homemade Female Buzz Lightyear Costume

I always want to be something unique for Halloween, so last year I came up with the idea of Buzz Lightyear. As a kid, Toystory was my favorite movie so I thought it would be fun to try it out. I took a look at his costume and came up with a female version, Luna Lightyear!

Complete with The Star Command Logo, inflatable jet pack and gloves! It was a year to remember, and winning a costume contest was great too! What I'm wearing is white sweatpants, a purple shirt and a white sportsbra that I embellished to look like it had a key pad and button to "open" the jet pack. I bought the gloves and jet pack at my local Halloween store.

My knee pads were homemade as well as the belt and necklace! I made the Star Command Logo out of Polymer clay! Enjoy!

by: Logan's Mom

My nieces are celebrating their birthday on Halloween and they are so obssessed with Toys Story 3 so they want to be Andy and Jessie and that left my 17 months old son to be Buzz lightyear. Which was no problem. But My sister get to dress up as a cow girl, easy for her. But me? How do I dress up like buzz's mom??? What a conundrum! I was just going to wear a printed shirt, but you made gave such a great idea! Thank you! I don't know how I'll do it but I'll let you know!

Thanks!

Hey!
I might have to be buzz for a thing i have to do at my school and I want to spice it up like you did. I was originally going to buy a kids costume and cut of the pants and just used the top, but i feel like that might be an epic fail. So i might go with your sports bra idea (cause it's brilliant). But i don't know exactly how to design it. And i can't really see the front of you costume since your arm is covering it. Is there a way you could post a pic of it so i can get an idea how to make mine? Thanks if you can.

we are doing Toy Story as a theme for our family halloween party this year, using your idea for sure! We needed a "Buzz" for our group of Woody, Jessie, Sid, green army guy, the bear and an alien! This is perfect, basing my costume off it! Thank you for submitting!

Every year I make my own Halloween costume, and usually put a ton of effort into it. I've been to this website before, but never entered into your contest.

This year, I made a Homemade Buzz Lightyear DIY Halloween Costume, and I think it turned out pretty well, hopefully your readers do too!
