I am an extremely poor college student and needed to come up with a low budget costume. I was rummaging through a bag of things that I used in the summer for a story time program and found yellow streamer paper which led to the homemade pinata adult Halloween costume idea. I cut the streamer paper into strips and hot glued them onto the dress. You need to do at least three layers otherwise the paper will crunch up (something I didn’t discover until two nights before Halloween). Make sure you start from the bottom of the dress and work your way up.
I then hot glued candy to the leggings. Note- the leggings were heavvvvvvy (but worth it). For the tail, I used a fairy head piece that had long ribbon attached. The head piece was a party favor for a three year old I babysit. I wrapped extra streamer paper around the wreath part so it could blend in. Overall this homemade pinata adult Halloween costume idea can be executed for less than $10 as long as you don’t mind using clothes you already have.
