Homemade Pinocchio Halloween Costume

I made my own Homemade Pinocchio Halloween Costume and won 3rd place with it! I went as Pinocchio and bought all my items from the thrift store and Walmart. I bought a yellow dress shirt and some red shorts and a black vest, a straw hat and even bought some wooden clogs on eBay! I bought a black wig and yellow, red and blue paint for the finishing touches.

I made a bowtie out of a neck tie and cardboard, painted a yellow trim around the outside of the vest. Had white gloves and a long nose. I bought a black wig that had shoulder length hair and I trimmed it to be short for a boys hair. I rolled my red capris up and sewed them to be shorts and then painted a blue strip down the legs and painted yellow stars down it, and trimmed it in black.

I completed my outfit with some wooden clogs.

My son Gabriel loves Pinocchio ('pickhio' is how he says it) and I didn't want to buy him the same old costume everyone would be buying at the party stores. So I decided to make a Homemade Pinocchio Costume. The hat and shirt were white and had to dye them yellow. I cut off the collar on the shirt and added white shiny fabric. I did get him white gloves but forgot to put them on.

The shorts and vest were hand made. In case any doubt of who he was I went to the Disney store and bought a small jimmney cricket which I safety pinned to his shoulder (was going to glue to the top of the hat but it was an expensive cricket).

On Halloween night I was stopped plenty and asked where I bought the costume. It was so worth the time put into it which really was not much.

Coolest Caged Pinocchio Costume 7

Caged Pinocchio Costume

I created a scene from my favorite movie Pinocchio. Pinocchio looks like he's locked in the cage by Stromboli. I dressed him as the bad Pinocchio with donkey ears and tail. I added his friends Cleo and Figaro. I made some fake stuffed legs and shoes and a matching pair of puppet gloved hands. The final touch was his tree nose that I added Jimmy Cricket to.

The cage was made from cardboard and bamboo. I added the blue fairy to the tip of the roof. An adorable scene that warms everyone's heart. The moral of the story is make good choices and all of your dreams will come true. Happy Halloween

I saw the other costume and wanted to try it. FYI: this website is the best. I got most of my idea for this Pinocchio Costume from here. I just followed the same thing the other guy did.

The mask was Bill Clinton and just added a mustache.

I love the costumes where the legs are fake, and this is one I've never seen. Creative! Kudos!

I drew my ideal jumper on paper, headed to Britex Fabrics for bright textured fabrics.

Also bought giant yellow buttons, slapped on a Woochie nose, some ears, paint and spray painted a Robin Hood type brown. And there you have it, a Pinocchio costume.

I got the idea for this Pinocchio costume from the one that appears on this site - this is the one...

The total was about 60 dollars.
