People were always telling me that my baby looked like the "Gerber Baby". He was very smiley with big blue eyes and a chubby little face.
When we were making a decision about his first Halloween costume, it just seemed perfect for him as a Halloween costume idea to make him into the Gerber Baby.
We used a toddler "pumpkin" costume pattern for the suit, putting a baby blue cloth strip for the classic Gerber label around the middle. I sketched the Gerber baby picture to put on there, but you could enlarge a copy from a label.
I made the "lid" from lightweight poster board that was sprayed with silver metallic paint and blue letters glued on. He wore a white hooded sweat suit and never even knew the lid was on his head. This is a very cute Halloween costume idea!

My 4 year-old son's name is Jackson . Every year I come up with a Halloween costume idea so to incorporate his name with his costume, i.e. (Jack-o-lantern, Jack in the box, Jack of hearts and this year he was Hungry Jack).
The materials used for this Halloween costume idea were 9x11" sheets of felt, glue gun, needle and thread, brown marker, tacky glue, old shirt and sweat pants and 1 bottle of Hungry Jack syrup. To make the flapjacks, you fold the beige felt in half, draw 2 medium circles, cut out and sew inside out, leave a little opening flipping back through. Then add a little stuffing and sew closed. Cut out a small square from the yellow felt and glue on top of flapjack to look like butter. Take a dark brown permanent marker and draw on top looking like syrup dripping. Then take a hot glue gun and follow the brown marker. This makes it look wet and like actual syrup. You will also stuff the Pop-Tart same as above, paint the top pretty thick and sprinkle glitter while wet. The rest you just cut out and glue on. This Halloween costume idea is easy to wear and very cute. |
