Coolest Monopoly and Operation Gameboard Costumes

I am always trying to come up with new and original stuff. This particular year I decided on a board game theme. The original plan was Monopoly and Life but that looked a little daunting. Both Monopoly and Operation Gameboard Costumes are made out of felt, it’s a very cheap fabric and easy to work with. As with anything you do it’s all about the right tools.

I used a fabric cutter that is basically like a pizza cutter and a metal straight edge. It allows you to cut long thin strips of whatever fabric you are using. Everything is held together with a hot glue gun so there’s zero sewing. I usually try to do objects or things rather than people because it’s just more fun. I keep all the old costumes because you never know when they might come in handy.

My oldest daughter will be trying her hand at making her first costume this year. She’s going to be a gumball machine. Good luck kid!

  1. I used felt. The Red part is just a big Rectangle. then place a smaller yellow rectangle over that. the pink for the body is felt also. then shade it with sidewalk chalk for a darker pink. everything is felt cut outs with some cardboard backing if needed. the tweezers are made out of cardboard then covered with felt using a hot glue gun.
