We both love Halloween and this year wanted to celebrate the holiday together with a couple costume. After deciding on a Day of the Dead theme for a party we were throwing we decided to go as a bride and groom, perfect couple idea. I love making costumes myself, I love that what I’m wearing is unique to me and not just another off the rack that most people choose to get!

For my costume, the bride, I sourced a vintage wedding dress from eBay, I cut out the thick under layer and altered the front so it was short and draping round the sides. I also cut of the sleeves so that it was off the shoulder. For my flower crown I just attached £1 fake flowers to an elastic headband, turned out to be very effective!

For the grooms costume, we picked up a cheap (£10) jacket and shirt (£8) from Primark (he wore old pants and shoes) and dusted them with talc and attached cob webs, spiders and skeleton chains.

For our makeup we used Spartoo makeup for the base, and cheap cosmetic makeup for the rest. I used pre sticky gems around mine.

We got great reactions from family and friends. After the party a group of us headed into town, where we have quite a number of people wanted to have their photo taken with us!

Definitely a costume we will use again! Great night had!!
