This Homemade Chiquita Banana Girl Costume was handmade with lots of love by Aubrey’s grandma Nancy. She modified a pattern to create this great look that is inspired by the Chiquita Banana lady.
The dress is made of shiny satin fabric with slight sparkle accents. The skirt has boning to keep its shape so each layer can stand out, for Cha Cha dancing. The layered dress features gold, orange, pink, and red with each layer trimmed in gold for a little extra shimmer and shine.
These colors are complemented by the fruit cover hat featuring, grapes, a lemon, an orange, cherries and of course a banana. Also adorning the hat are vibrant red feathers complementing the red of the top of the dress, and the flounce of the sleeves. Aubrey accented with beaded necklaces and homemade multi colored bracelets along with gold sandals to complete the look.
It’s as vibrant as Aubrey and lets you know to eat some fruit!
