Homemade Christmas Giftbox Costume

Homemade Christmas Giftbox Costume

Last year around Halloween I needed a costume but was low on cash so I was surfing the internet for ideas when I saw one that I could work with. I was going to be a Homemade Christmas Giftbox Costume, then I decided I could make it with a little spin on it!

I just simply got an old box and used some Christmas wrapping paper and cut the bottom flaps off and kept the tops on because I was only going to wear boxers and needed some protection. I poked two holes on each side and put shoe string through them and tied knots at the end of each so it would hold up.

I then made a sign stating To: Women, From: God thus creating Gods Gift To Women! It was such a big hit at all the parties I went to. Everyone was talking about it for days after Halloween. You can also do the same exact thing and put a sign saying "My Cock In A Box". You can put any twist on it that you would like. That is why this is simply the BEST costume to make for a cheap Halloween costume!

Our Perfect Present Costume

Our Perfect Present Costume

My four year old daughter, Katie, went as the perfect little present this year for Halloween. I handcrafted a bow for the top of her head using two spools of wired ribbon and then attached it to the top of her head with bobby pins. I drew balloons on her face to match the colorful balloon wrapping paper that was used to cover the box.

We cut the bottom out of the box and then cut arm holes and a hole in the top for her to fit her head through. After wrapping the box we slid it over her head and she put her arms through. It was easy to do and very inexpensive and she received rave reviews at the party that was held in our community. She looked adorable as well.

She is the youngest of our children and actually was quite the ‘present’ as after having a daughter and a son we thought we were done having children. Everyone loved the idea and I can’t wait to create my children’s costumes next year!

I love that idea! Its really easy to make and really cute. I've already got the wrapping paper and bows. I am going to glue the bows onto a headband so I can take it off easily. I am sure I will get a lot of comments from other trick-or-treaters!!

The Perfect Gift Box Costume

The Perfect Gift Box Costume

This year I decided to make my childrens costumes. My youngest daughter, Katie, age 4, was pretty much a surprise to us. We weren't expecting to have anymore children, but are so lucky to have had her. She is our perfect little present.

This year for Halloween, that is exactly what she is. Her gift box costume was simple. Just take a square cardboard box. Cut the bottom out, then cut arm holes and a hole to fit the head through. Wrap in colorful paper and attach a bow on the top of the child's head. I couldn't find a bow big enough, so I made this one out of two spools of wired ribbon. Then I attached a gift tag on the front of the box which said Happy Birthday. To: You Love: Katie.

Everyone loved it and she just looked so cute!

Thanks for sharing your ideas! Your article gave me a great idea about how to make the same costume for my child who will be appearing as a gift box in her class presentation next week. With the help of your practical suggestions, I'm sure my Gabby would look as good as your Katie does in the picture.

Homemade God's Gift Box Costume

This Homemade God's Gift Box Costume was so easy and very funny, well received!

I took a cardboard box the size of my son and cut holes for his head and arms. Then I wrapped the package in star wrapping paper.

I printed the tag on the computer and got the bow at the dollar store.

Total cost: Less than $5.00
