I’d been wanting to dress up as a peacock for years, and when my friend spotted peacock feathers at Michael’s, I knew it was finally time to make it happen! This DIY homemade peacock costume was budget-friendly, creative, and such a show-stopper.
🦚 How I Made the Peacock Costume:
Feather Backpiece: I cut a piece of cardboard to fit across my back, covered it with black fabric I already had, and attached the peacock feathers using hot glue and staples. To secure it, I stapled elastic straps on each side so it could be worn like a backpack.
Clothing: A simple blue shirt from Goodwill, paired with a black skirt and boots from my closet, pulled the look together.
Accessories: I made earrings from two of the feathers, then added blue hair spray and blue eyeshadow (from Walmart) to complete the vibrant peacock vibe.
