Homemade Little Bo Peep and her Sheep Costume

My fiance mentioned the idea first for a Homemade Little Bo Peep and her Sheep Costume, not realizing I was going to give it my best shot. After finding an old square dancing dress and crinoline at a thrift store, I decided there was no turning back. To finish "Bo Peep's" outfit I bought a $5 pair of pajama pants from Walmart, cropped them, and glued 2 rows of eyelet trim to the bottoms for her bloomers. Big curly blond wig and blue satin ribbon- Bo Peep was complete.

Now, as for the sheep costume, cost effective, but be prepared, VERY time consuming. I bought an inexpensive white hoodie and a few bags of cotton balls and while watching TV, individually glue-gunned hundreds of cotton balls to it (if you take the time to pull the cotton balls apart slightly, you can cover more surface area). To make the ears, I cut them from a piece of black felt and a smaller piece of pink felt glued to it as the inside of the ear. Pinched one end of the ear together at the top and hot-glued the to the hoodie. Used black sweatpants for the bottom (and fingerless black gloves-not pictured). Several hours later...my sheep was ready.

Although it took some time, it was well worth it! Definately got some attention at the party! In fact, my wonderful fiance, who almost backed out of the costume at the last minute, enjoyed every minute of it after getting petted by every girl who saw him. I know he secretly had a blast!

My Lil Bo Peep costume was handmade by one of my best friend's. We found a pattern for a similar outfit at the material store and then added our own special touches to the costume. My staff was made by my fiance's dad. He used some kind of electrical pipe and then covered it with white electrical tape. I safety pinned light blue ribbons on some knee high stockings and tied a bow around the staff.

The sheep costume was made from a white hoodie and white sweat pants. We took Elmer's spray glue and pillow stuffing and made little puff balls all over to look like fur. Ears were also sewn on to the hoodie using white material and pink for the insides of the ears. I painted his nose with some black halloween makeup and made him a bell necklace out of blue ribbon.

Needless to say we were the center of attention with our Homemade Lil Bo Peep and her Sheep Couple Costume everwhere we went and we even won 3rd place at a local radio station contest.

My granddaughter wanted a Little Bo Peep Girl Costume for Halloween ! So I looked at premade costumes, they were not very cute! I bought a simple little girls dress pattern and made her a dress and then also made a pinafore with lots of ribbon details. I also made her bonnet by guessing, it turned out cute

I also made the pantaloons by taking a pair of her pants and cutting around them for size and added ruffles and ribbon to make it seem like the real thing. I bought a candy cane from a dollar store cover it with matching material add a sheep to it and some ribbon, then for her bucket I bought a sheep stuffed animal from a thrift store, gutted it, sewed a liner in it and handle. Put a pair of tights on her and a pair of dressy shoes.

It took about 4-5 hours total and is cute.

Avairya is LIL BO PEEP. This Homemade Lil Bo Peep Costume also has a staff (she chewed it most of the time!), but it is not visible in the photo. I designed and made her entire costume. She looked like a little baby doll.

The costume consists of a pair of pantaloons with a ruffle and tiny embroidered lambs around the cuff. The corset has rows of elastic in the back allowing it to fit a baby of any size. I also made the pettiskirt with over 50 yards of nylon chiffon. The staff was made out of the leftover pink fabric and stuffed with pipe cleaners, enabling it to be bent into the hook shape.

Little Bo Peep, but this one didn't lose her sheep! This classic DIY Little Bo Peep Halloween Costume was homemade. I selected the ivory fabric with pink floral print to reflect more of a vintage look that was represented in the classic nursery rhyme.

The eyelet trim was too bright white so I tea-dyed it and it matched perfectly. Hat was really comfortable and kept her warm. The shepherd's cane was bought but I decorated it with the same ivory ribbon used on her costume.
