Homemade Troll Dolls Costume

Remember the troll dolls you used to own when you were little? Last Halloween, my friends and I had so much fun recreating them. The favorite part of our costume was our hair. We put cups on top of our heads and used ponytail holders to secure them in place. Then, we used lots and lots of hairspray to keep our hair sticking up as crazy as we could. We sprayed them with about a bottle of hair color and then we were set.

Our costumes were fun too. At first glance you might think we were all walking around in the buff, but we were wearing nude suits and pantyhose! We each made a gem with our troll's belly (for good luck!)using foam board, glue, and glitter.

The costume was pretty easy and was a party favorite. And how many days of the year can you really run around in nude suits anyway?

Great Idea
by: Anonymous

My 16 year old daughter and her friend are going to wear these to their dance class Halloween party. They have the nude leotards and tights as part of a dance costume they wore previously. (Any dance supply store would have these). Thanks for sharing your idea!

answers to some questions
by: Jill

We ordered the top body suits from amazon. They were about $20 each. We had a really hard time finding nude leggings for the bottom, so the bottoms are actually 2 pairs of pantyhose. (The layering of them made them less see-through).

Also, the hair coloring was just the spray-on kind. We got that from Johnny Brocks. It took about one full bottle for full coverage. The yellow coloring was hard to see on dark hair also, fyi!

oh my gosh...what a great idea! I have been looking and looking up on the internet about how to look like a troll for Halloween. But, all I have found is wigs, and child costumes!

This is perfect... I will be going to get my supplies tomorrow! I think I am actually going to do long johns though... Hopefully it will be just as cute as you four! Thanks for the great idea! I have been pondering on the belly button issue!

Target
by: Anonymous

I am also stealing the troll doll idea. I bought a nude tank top and shorts at target in the bra section. It shapes to your body and actually makes you look a lot thinner!

Hair - use a water bottle or coke bottle
