Homemade Flintstones Group Costume

As we do every year, we as a group of good friends, decided to do the Flintstones Group Costume and had fun doing it.

Pebbles: Found a yellow dress at a salvation army and glue gunned on some cut out black triangles. Then we found a pink wig and attached a bone headband.

Bam Bam: Yellow shorts and glued on black triangles. White wig and yellow hat- glued on a plastic bone from dollar store. He also carried a big bone bat (from Dollar store).

Betty- Blue material made the dress with attachments for the neck and blue material for head band.

Barney- Caveman dress from Zellars (left over from year before), some bone jewelry from Dollar store. Then topped off with a yellow wig.

Fred- Orange material sewed together at one side and elastic around the neck, with tie . Glued on black material triangles. Black wig.

Wilma- A old wedding dress from salvation army, also sewed on black triangles. Zebra lace sewed on to bottom and around shoulder. A blond wig which I sprayed on orange color.

This Flintstones Group Costume turned out great. We were First place all the way!

Coolest Homemade Flintstone Family Halloween Costume 22

Homemade Flintstone Family Halloween Costume

Homemade Flintstone Family Halloween Costume

We went in a Homemade Flintstone Family Halloween Costume this year.

Wilma wore a white halter top sundress with jagged edges cut all around the bottom of the dress The necklace was found at Goodwill.

Fred's outfit was an orange graduation gown that I shortened and cut the arms off. Then I glued black felt shapes to it. His tie was simply a piece of blue fabric.

Pebbles' outfit was a green onesie cut to T-shirt length. I glued black felt shapes to it as well. We had the diaper cover already (and she's wearing tights because it was cold.) Her bone was just a piece of felt shaped as a bone and glued to a barrette.

Dino's costume was the hardest and most time-consuming. I bought a few pieces of purple felt (already had the tan, white and black) and started cutting and stuffing and sewing, grabbing the dog every once in a while to measure the costume around her.

Flintstones & Rubbles Halloween Costume

Flintstones & Rubbles Halloween Costume

Meet the Flintstones and the Rubbles!
We made our Flinstones and Rubbles Halloween costumes out of felt and dress from Goodwill. While making them, we really had no clue what we were doing. We just looked costumes up on line and started cutting away.

My friend and I had never used a sewing machine prior to this, so we made it up as we went. On Halloween night, we were doing finishing touches as trick-or-treaters were already coming to the door. The hardest one was Wilma's dress, but it turned out great.

In the end, we were all very pleased with our costumes. It was too perfect that we are great friends in real life, and as our Halloween characters!

Yours are by far the best homemade Flintstones costumes. We are gonna do it this year with our one year old as Pebbles...just wondering, what fabric is "Freds" tie? also, how did you make Wilma's necklace, I was thinking of stringing together Styrofoam balls from the craft store...

Response
by: Jenny

My friend bought the fabric for the tie but I am almost 100% sure it was felt. And yes, that is exactly how we made the necklace. :) Have fun!!

Great Job!!!

Homemade Flintstones Costume

Homemade Flintstones Costume

We chose to make a simple homemade Flintstones costume of Fred and Wilma Flintstone. First off we got some material for Fred and a white soft blanket for Wilma. The blanket was cheaper to buy compared to warm non-see-through material. We even had enough of the blanket left to make a shawl for Wilma. Once everything was made we just used spray hair color and practice golf balls with a string through them for the rock pearls.

The womקn's costumes were made by my grandmother, no wigs required, just lots of hairspray and coloured spray for Wilma. Pearl necklace and earrings made with Styrofoam balls.

The guys made their own costumes with cheap Walmart material. Each costume cost under $10 to make. Bowling balls made with duct tape and newspaper. This Homemade Flintstones Group Costume was a hit at the office!

Homemade Flintstone Family Costume

My husband made this Homemade Flintstone Family Costume for all of us.

After seeing the prices of costumes in the stores, we decided that we would try to make them ourselves. Three hours later this is what we came up with. We've never had our picture taken so many times!
