I dressed up as "Buddy the Elf" from the Will Ferrell movie, "Elf". I used a shirt that says "Cotton Headed Ninny Muggins", one of Buddy's favorite things to say in the movie and a hat that I made from scratch that is identical to the one from the movie (Son of a Nutcracker!!).
Instead of tights I opted for a tiny pair of yellow shorts and I pair of thigh-high yellow socks. I made shoes that are just like the ones Buddy wears in the movie, black with little balls hanging off of the ends. My curly hair and height (I am six feet seven inches tall) really help sell the Homemade Buddy the Elf Costume for me! I only said Buddy the Elf lines all night, never breaking character (We elves try to stick to the four main food groups: candy, candy canes, candy corns and syrup!).
Multiple random people stopped me for pictures! What's your favorite color?

Homemade Bartleby from Dogma Costume - The one in the middle...
My costume is the angel Bartleby from the movie Dogma. I wore this costume to DragonCon this year and every one there was blown away. This costume was extremely hard to make especially because it was the first full extensive costume I had ever made.
The wings are 30 lbs and everything was hand made... yes even the chain mail. The armor is made from a mannequin that I cut up and painted and added straps and a wing harness to. The wings are copper wire and chicken wire armature based with white fabric batting covered with real bleached turkey feathers and a fur type fabric for edging.
Anyways it took me all summer to make and I am very proud of it. I hope you like it too. Oh, and yes, I made the other two costumes also.
This costume has taken me 8 months to create. Its made out of cardboard, black duct tape, felt and hot glue.
The eyes light up and the entire costume breaks down easily for transportation. The creature is based off the 2003 Mechagodzilla design aka Kiryu. I wanted to do something challenging this year and this was it!
The homemade Mechagodzilla costume is very light weight. Also, each tooth was made out of 5 minute epoxy. I also used some Bondo for the biceps along with Great Stuf foam.
Happy Halloween everyone!

As mentioned previously, I get a little obsessive about my costumes and usually start in the late summer on halloween costumes. I always find it's hard to find good female characters with a unique costume or look.
I loved the movie Doomsday and the character "Viper" says like 3 lines and is only in the film briefly (I had to look up her name on the internet) but had such a fun distinctive look I spent a month doing this costume.
