This "Don't Let the Pigeon Drive the Bus" Couple Costume was inspired by Mo Willems' book Don't Let the Pigeon Drive the Bus! These boys are brothers, and this book is one of their favorites! Little brother Callum is always trying to steal big brother Casimir's toys, so it was quite fitting for Casimir to be the bus driver, and Callum be the Pigeon trying to weasel his way into taking the bus for a spin!!

The bus was made from cardboard boxes, bubble wrap, duck tape, electrical tape, and is equipped with functioning headlights, blinking backup lights, and a horn! The straps are black nylon, just like seat belts, and are fastened with belt buckles!! Pigeon's costume, or as Aunty (the creator of the costumes) likes to call him, Piggey, is made from nice warm fleece, filled with poly-fill. The hat was made from fleece, with felt eyes and beak!

This was the boys first Halloween trick-or-treating, and Aunty is happy to say their costumes were a total smash!

Homemade Zenon: Girl of the 21st Century Group Costume

This Homemade Zenon: Girl of the 21st Century Group Costume was inspired by the Disney channel Original Movie Zenon: Girl of the 21st Century. We have the three main characters of the movie, Zenon, Nebula and Protozoa. We bought most of the costumes at the Salvation army and then doctored them up with lots of silver duct tape, silver fabric and silver puff paint. It was all about having as much neon and metallic colors in the costumes. We even included the disk earing worn by Zenon in the movie. Throughout the night an ipod player was carried around playing "Zoom Zoom Zoom", the song sung by Protoza in the movie.

The costumes were a hit.

Coolest Homemade Ivan Drago from Rocky Costume

Homemade Ivan Drago from Rocky Costume

I absolutely love Rocky IV, and I really wanted to be Ivan Drago (aka Dolph Lundgren). I loved it so much that I died my black hair blonde. I don't expect people to follow suit, because I went through two months of torture betting my black hair back.

Other than the hair, for this Homemade Ivan Drago from Rocky Costume I bought a Soviet Union flag online for about $35, and red/yellow basketball shorts for about $20. I used double-sided tape to keep the flag stuck to my shoulder. I strongly recommend this so that you don't have to deal with the flag all night.

I also wanted to be able to use my hands during the night out, so I decided not to use boxing gloves. My friend randomly knew how to tape hands for boxers so that was the finishing touch. I just wore sneakers and long athletic socks, but boots could be a great addition.

It was a HUGE hit.

Hair looked good, but yeah dying it sucks.

Footwear
by: Chris

What did you use for footwear? Boots or shoes? I'm struggling with some ideas with Ivan Drago because boots are expensive to buy.
