Homemade Lara Croft from Tomb Raider Costume

I made the coat for this Homemade Lara Croft from Tomb Raider Costume. The rest was either borrowed or thrown together from what I already owned. The coat I made out of a robe pattern that had a hood on it, and then attached the fur to the hood. I kind of winged it from the pictures I could find on Google.com. If you search "Lara Croft long coat or Lara Croft Arctic" there are a few pictures from the actual movie.

The gun holsters I borrowed from a friend. (if you know anyone in the armed forces, that's a good source for these gun holsters otherwise they are kind of pricey). For the hair, I actually bought a clip on hair piece that I found at Walgreens, and then used colored hair spray on the rest. (I'm blond so I needed the darker hair color). I then braided my own hair into the hair piece to make it look like my own hair.

For the pants and tank top these were already in my closet. Then I just wore some black boots with fur on them that my daughter had that happened to match perfectly.

This Homemade Sam from Trick 'r Treat Costume was handmade by making a paper mache head, once dried cutting the balloon to look like a space helmet and covering it with burlap and rope. The eyes are large buttons that I painted with black spray paint, string for the mouth, sewing a sleeper with orange fleece fabric and making getting some gloves and cutting the finger area off and hot gluing burlap over the glove and and rope.

The sucker was made with a butter container as a drilled a hole towards the bottom and inserted a long dowel stick, melted about 20 small glue sticks in a pan and poured it into the container, let it dry and painted it orange and used a black sharpie to draw a face on the sucker and black tape to decorate the dowel part once painted and cut the lollipop with a knife.

The costume was topped off with a burlap sake and fake blood poured on it.

Coolest Homemade Edward and Bella from Twilight Costume

Bella Swan and Edward Cullen Costumes

Bella Swan and Edward Cullen Costumes

I like to make my costumes so last year that’s what I did. We both read the Twilight Saga and loved the books, plus they were getting pretty big so I figured why not be Edward Cullen and Bella Swan, it would be pretty easy and cheap to do.

So when Halloween arrived we applied mounds of pale make up to ourselves. He got a pair of contacts to match Edward's eyes, closest clothes to what Edward might wear, as well as fangs (so people would know he was a vampire). I had a long sleeve shirt, no make-up and glued a fake vampire bite to my hand.

We were the only Bella and Edward at the party but the movie had not come out yet so sadly a lot of people didn’t realize who we were supposed to be until we told them. It by far was one of my favorite costumes ever and definitely the coolest one.

I have noticed that a lot of people are scared of that ghost in the movie 'The Grudge'. So I thought of a costume that is somewhat similar to that and created this homemade scary ghost from the Grudge costume.

I searched for my old white clothes that would fit my niece. I found this very old sleepwear dress which I think would be perfect. Then I put a lot of powder on my niece's face and dark circles on her eyes. We also put black nail polish on both her finger and toenails. And for the finale, twisted her long hair. Voila!! We won the scariest costume.
