For this costume I followed the McCall's pattern #MP357, size 1/2. My son Timmy is 5 months old.
I started making this costume early September and it took me 5 weeks! I have two small children, so I don't have long sewing sessions. This costume is a pretty difficult pattern with lots of hand-stitching, especially all the hood pieces; ears, trunk, tusks, etc.
I used a grey cotton fabric someone had given me, so it cut down cost considerably. A soft, textured fabric would have been nicer, but I like to use what I already have. Timmy did look adorable in his costume and he didn't mind wearing the hood. He won "Cutest Costume" award at our church party.
Total Spent: $5 (I had free fabric)
