This is my own costume representing … FACEBOOK!

In order to give you a clear picture of my approach on how I made my Homemade Facebook Costume, I will explain the steps of making.

Step 1:
The costume is made of a white, able-to-stretch cloth, covering all body parts except the neck and head.

Step 2:
Each body part represents a Facebook section. In my case the top front part showed ‘the wall’ with posts, likes, links, comments, images, pokes etc. Equally the back part showed ‘my profile’ section. My right arm showed the names and pictures of my ‘friends’ while the left arm showed various adverts. On my chest and back, one can even find the scroll-down-button.

The lower part of the costume showed various part of facebook pages such as games, logos, rules and regulations, forms etc. Below that, on the feet there were also printed parts of facebook!

Around my head I used the facebook toolbar to create a headband illustrating ‘home’ ‘profile’ ‘account’ and ‘search’, whereas around my neck I used a series of images like the ones we find in our profiles to create a second band.

Step 3:
Around my waist I created an elastic belt with letters reading ‘www.facebook.com’

Step 4:
Trying to make the facebook costume as fun as possible I created a pixilated cursor pointing on ‘home’ and ‘profile’ tabs which I carried around with me and used it as my ‘weapon’

Hope you will like it!

I designed my son's Face/Book costume as a play on words with the whole costume centered around his face in a book. For this homemade Face-Book Halloween costume idea I started with two pieces of foam board and cut a hole for the face. I sandwiched him between the two boards and connected the two pieces of foam boards with Bristol board and lots of tape, leaving spaces for his arms.

I covered the front with paper mâché and built a 3D image of the F, Like, thumbs up, and comment icon. Then I painted in the colors of Facebook, painted the F white and assembled a friends list by making a collage of silly pictures. I used plaster of paris, over Bristol board for the top and side of the book, shaped the plaster to look like pages of a book, then painted it white and drew lines with a brown pencil crayon. I taped the inside of the face area so it didn't hurt his face and framed it with construction paper to make it look like a profile picture.

I finished the costume with more Facebook themed pictures. It was a hit at school because he carried a little wipe off board for people to write comments.

I am a FaceBook queen, all my friends tell me so! For Halloween I dressed up as Facebook! I got cute lil mini blue dress, got some iron on transfer paper & ironed on various emblems: FB , You Like This?, Poke Me, & FaceBook. Then I bought a huge posterboard & made an exact replica of my page. I added real photo's, real quotes from my wall, even had a dry erase section where I could update my status during the night, then I cut out a huge square where my profile pic would be in order for my head to fit through! Then topped it off with white go-go boots & blue sunglasses w/a glitzy F & B!! I was indeed FACEBOOK!:)

Coolest Facebook Page Costume

I made this Facebook Page costume myself for a famous San Francisco Annual Race called "Bay to Breakers". Every comment on it is related to me being in the race, including my status update and Facebook "check in". Even the adds are funny and related to the party. It was very popular, I got many "likes" and "pokes" during the race and it made the San Francisco Chronicle.

My homemade Facebook Costume is my Facebook page.
I think it is very creative. Though if you want it to be perfect is takes a lot of time, but it is worth it.
