To make the Homemade Human Statue Costume I used several sized boxes, 1 for the pedestal and 4 for the upper and lower tiers. I wrapped all the boxes in textured white wallpaper and assembled them all together.
I then glued on ivy in a draped pattern. I painted my daughter's hair and face with white actors paint and then put a halo of white painted eucalyptus on her head. Finally I wrapped a white sheet cut to size around her to complete the costume.
I had so many people stopping to ask how I made the costume and to take pictures of it. I had no room to store the costume so I donated it to a local church's youth group to use in plays.

Homemade Human Statue Street Performer Costume
We were going nuts trying to think of something cool and fun for my son Ryan to be when it finally hit me! He's always been amazed by the street performers along the Embarcadero in San Francisco. Put some money in their cup and they come alive. Ryan loved the idea and the photo of this Homemade Human Statue Street Performer Costume says it all.
