My husband and I knew we’d be fools to pass up this opportunity. How often does Disney make a movie about a princess who has TRIPLET siblings? You see, I have that exact lineup – a three year old daughter and 1.5 year old triplets, and knew it was meant to be. I knew this undertaking would be a challenge, but who doesn’t love a good challenge, says a mom with a toddler and triplets!
I painted the backdrop on my living-room floor for a more “cinematic” effect. The movie takes place in Scotland, so I built a castle among rolling hills. I sewed the kilts for the triplets using some plaid fabric I had in my stash.
Keeping the wigs on was a challenge in and of itself. I had to keep tossing food in their directions so their hands would be kept busy and away from trying to take off their wigs. If you notice, one triplet is downing a GoGo Squeeze applesauce pouch as the picture was being taken. The best reactions we got were social media based (Facebook, Instagram). I’d posted it on a mom’s group I’m a part of and within a couple hours I got over 1K likes and numerous comments on how wonderful and amazing it was!
At the end of the day, my kids will have some fun pictures to look back on and proof that their parents were indeed fun-loving parents! Raising four children from under the age of two has been the hardest challenge to date for both my husband and I. It has tested us in ways we never expected, taken us to our breaking points and back, and through it all we’ve managed to find ways to laugh and enjoy wonderful moments like these with our kids. It’s what keeps us sane, really!
