Coolest Homemade Spongebob and Patrick Costumes

We wanted to dress up as Homemade Spongebob and Patrick Costumes. The ones that they sell at the store are lame.

We used PVC pipe to build the frame for Spongebob. Then we covered it thin foam . On top of that we layered it with yellow fleece. Then finished it up with details. We cut a hole for Spongebob’s mouth and covered it with screen so I could see out of. His eyes were made of Styrofoam balls cut in half. And to hold it up, we tied straps to the piping inside and I held it up with my shoulders. I bought tights at a thrift store and wore a long sleeve yellow shirt.

For Patrick we bought the fleece fabric, cut out the shape and put it together. A hula hoop was used to make him wide. His headpiece was separate and we cut a hole in that to see out of.

The kids loved to take pictures with us and we were a hit at parties!
