Coolest Homemade Loofah Costume

I was in a hurry last year to make a costume at the last minute and found your website. I found the Loofah Costume and thought it looked pretty easy! As it turns out, it was!

I started with a black ribbed tank top as my base. I put the tank top around the end of my ironing board so that I had a flat surface and so it was easy to rotate. I then pinned 20 yards of pink tuleing to it by gathering it in loops and pinning it all around the tank top, rotating the tank top as I went. I also added a shower “rope” for authenticity! The shower rope was just white cotton cording from the craft store. When it was done, the tank top served as a shell/vest that I simply slipped over a long sleeved black tee and yoga pants.
Thanks for the awesome inspiration! Everyone at my work loved it!

  1. I work with Alicia and it was a total hit! Everyone loved it and wanted to get their picture taken with her. This is a great site to find cool ideas!

  2. Hi! I love your costume and this is what I have chose to be this year :)

I just don’t understand how you made it so puffy? Did you cut the tulle in squares then bunch them? I’m do confused! :)

    Thanks for your help!
