Coolest Homemade King Of The Wild Things Halloween Costume

My two year old son, Hunter, is a huge fan of the book “Where The Wild Things Are” so when the movie came out, we thought it was the perfect opportunity to take him to his first movie. He absolutely loved his Homemade King Of The Wild Things Halloween Costume and since then, is hooked on “Wild Things…GRRRR”! We have to read the book, sometimes three times in a row, each night and when I asked him what he wanted me to carve his pumpkin into, he said, “A Wild Thing!” So, naturally, I had to make him a costume that showed off his passion.

We used our “Kota” dinosaur and built it up with fabrics, batting, paint, etc. until we had our rendition of “Carol” the wild thing. I did order the “Max” sleeper online, but then made his scepter and crown. We put Max on Carol’s back and made the platform to roll them around and Hunter just loves it!

We tested it out last week at a parade and he stayed put the whole time, keeping his crown on and holding his scepter!

  4. This weekend I was fotunate enough to be stuck in a halloween parade while being chased by a marching band but the best part was being next to Hunter, in full Wild Things costume! By far the best costume there. Must have taken a creative genius to make such a detailed “carol”…even my german shepherd gave it 2 paws up!
