Flavor Flav and New York aren’t hugely original, so my boyfriend and I decided to switch roles. He went as New York and I went as Flavor Flav. This worked well as I am 5’3″ and short and scrawny like Flavor Flav and my boyfriend is 6’3″. What made it even funnier is that he is this huge lumbering guy walking around all night in these shoes and a dress that barely fit!
We went to a thrift shop to get his dress, shoes, and bra. We got his wig from a costume store. I did his makeup and his hair!
For the Flavor Flav outfit, we recycled a “pimp” costume from years past. Used a plastic paper plate, Mardi Gras beads and white-out to make the clock. The Viking hat was a few dollars at a costume store. I couldn’t find the perfect hair that was like Flavor Flavs, so I got green braids and painted them black. We got all our gold bling-y accent jewelry at the costume store and everyone loved it!
