Abigail’s insanely obsessed dog mom Sarah insisted she enter Abbie in a pet parade contest. It was a ‘go big or go home’ mentality when it came to what Abbie would dress up as.
She wanted a costume that she could contain Abbie to a wagon so that she wouldn’t get tangled or fraternize with the other parade participants. After hours of thought, research and sketching, operation Paws & Claws was put into place.
First step, talk her husband into playing with his tools in the garage and creating a “weekend project”. Once she got the go ahead (after several rolls of the eyes, head shakes and comments such as “you’re insane”, “are you serious” and “I can’t believe we are doing this”) we started to build.
The ideas flowed and the costume evolved into what we have today, complete with working lights and arcade music that plays as she rolls! People can’t believe we made this and are head over heels in love with the costume! I’ll chalk this one up as a win in the crazy dog mom category!
