My daughter Victoria and I worked on this Princess Jasmine costume together. As you can see we covered one of her bras with gathered blue fabric, added decorative trim, attached drop sleeves that I stuffed with some cotton to give it dimension. Bra has a decorative pendent, however the jewel drop is real, Blue Topaz with diamonds. Pants are just balloon pants that I sewed, I gathered them at ankles and just below waist.
I made two pairs of shoes. When she was just going to wear bikini bottoms with wrap she was going to wear high heel ankle boots, she decided to wear harem pants so I made some slippers. I could not find Jasmine jewelry like the ones in the movie, so I also made the jewelry, it it gold lame stuffed with cotton and hand sewn. Necklace is compressed Styrofoam with gold lame and also stuffed with cotton and hand sewn. Oh, the things you can do with cotton quilting.
Last-Minute Cute Jasmine and Aladdin Couple Costume
My boyfriend and I were looking for a fun costume idea that we could make that no one had done before. We bounced some ideas off of each other and finally came up with Aladdin and Jasmine because it’s our favorite Disney movie! My roommates and I went to Walmart to buy all of the fabric and jewels. I made the Aladdin costume ahead of time, it was so easy!
You take a purple shirt and cut it up as a vest, then get some white work pants and scrunch them up at the bottom. I cut up an old tank top for the maroon band around his waist. My costume was a little more complex. I took a regular headband and super glued the fabric on to it with the jewel on top. Then I made the bottoms by cutting up the fabric and tying it to my legs to make sure it fit. The top was sewn together by my roommate.
We waited until the last minute to make the costume, we were sewing while everyone else was pregaming! But it turned out great. I had a chain belt that I wore as well as lots of blue sparkley makeup! Everyone at the party loved it! One of our friends was even a monkey so that fit in to our costume as well. This is defiantly one of my favorite costumes, I even let one of my friends wear it with her boyfriend the next year because they liked it so much.
Super Awesome Aladdin and Jasmine Couple Costume
My best guy friend and I are obsessed with Disney’s Aladdin. So of course, we just had to make it happen for Halloween. John and I talked about how to make it happen and watched the movie millions of times… you know, for research ;)
My mom actually designed and sewed the costumes herself, while I picked out all of the fabric and accessories. They turned out perfect. I really want to win this contest so I can give back to my mom for all the hard work she not only put into our costumes but that she puts into making my life special every day.
Pretty Homemade Princess Jasmine Costume
I found an old dress at a thrift store that was the exact color and material I needed to make this pretty homemade Princess Jasmine costume. I purchased the dress for $7. I bought trim and elastic for about $4.
It took me about 4 days to make. I bought the necklace ($4) and brooch ($3). I received so many compliments and suggestions to apply at Disneyland, I was even offered to work at a little girls birthday party. It was a great idea to make my own!
Dramatic Disney Jasmine Homemade Costume for a Woman
Hey y’all! This is my absolute favorite costume I’ve made so far! I first created the top with a vision already in mind. I purchased an inexpensive push up bra (because I need a little help, lol) and then headed straight to the craft store!
I purchased a teal silk type material, the teal mesh material to add a little more effect, the gold cord and the beautiful embellishment in the middle. It all seemed to be coming together. I fitted the teal silk material around the bra and pinned the material in place. I cut the teal mesh material with a greater seam allowance so that the mesh would not tug/snag while partying the night away!
The gold cord and embellishment were the next to be put on so I took out the magic hot glue gun and went at it! I created the small sleeves to add a little something. The pants were fairly easy as the material was flowy. The gold waist band was sewn to the pants to ensure a fitted waistline. I was eager to compete in the costume contest where we were at for the night but my Aladdin just wasn’t having it.
To wrap it up, I would say the hardest part for me was to fit the bra clasps in the back with enough material so that when the bra stretched the silk material would still be covered. It probably took me a couple days altogether.
