I love Halloween and love dressing up, so being pregnant in October just added to the fun. My 1-year-old was going trick-or-treating as a skeleton, and I thought it would be cool if I made a Pregnant Skeleton Costume (along with his future baby brother), too!

This costume was super easy to make, though time consuming. The base is simply an oversized black shirt and black pants. The bones are all cut out of white craft foam (very inexpensive at Walmart) and sewn on individually (that was the time consuming part).

For the baby skeleton, I still used the white craft foam, but the pieces were too small to sew on individually (or I'm too lazy, whatever), so I bought one sheet of black craft foam and glued the baby skeleton pieces to that, which worked GREAT! I cut the black foam around the baby maybe 1/2 inch out and then sewed the whole thing in to place. Just a note: I thought the idea of a baby skeleton was just a little creepy, so I made sure to have the baby skeleton smiling... much better!

I have gotten TONS of great compliments on this costume and even recently loaned it to my newly pregnant friend as a way of informing people of her pregnancy! Enjoy!

I love Halloween and believe if the occasion allows dressing up, well then by all means dress up. I wore this Pregnant Skeleton Costume Idea to work for our Halloween party and received 1st place then to my doctor's appointment and everyone loved it, I even got a photo with my doctor checking the "baby's heart beat" and then to the bar with my friends later and received first place there!

I made the pants and bought a cheap shirt and wore my Bella band to make up the difference in the middle. My sisters then painted bones on my outfit with white paint while I wore it to make sure we got the bones in the right place. The paint soaked through but I took the outfit off before the paint dried too much and just scrubbed it off my body later. I also had black gloves that they painted too. For the bars my sister painted my face too.

It was a big hit and everyone really seemed to like our creativity!

This Homemade Pregnant Skeleton Costume was easy to wear specially during your last months of pregnancy.

You will need a stretch material black long sleeve mock neck top and long leggings, black gloves, White Fabric Paint, paper to draw patterns and a brush (if not use spray paint).

-First make sure all items are form fitted.
-Mark with fabric chalk where baby is and all the joints such as elbows, knee, and also ribs.
-Using paper cut out all shapes of ribs and all bones as template.
-Paint and let dry for at least 1 day. (place a paper under paint to protect back of stains)
-If you are having a baby girl just draw a pink bow in the baby skeleton, you can also add a red heart if you want.
-Paint your face white leaving empty eye sockets, nose and under cheekbone. Finish using black makeup to complete empty areas.
-For full outfit, you can also get black socks and paint feet bones.
