Homemade Pregnant Twiddle Dum and Twiddle Dee Costume

The year I was pregnant for Halloween my work chose Alice in Wonderland (with some nudges from me) as our theme. I wanted to be two people in one, so who better than Twiddle Dum and Twiddle Dee! This Pregnant Twiddle Dum and Twiddle Dee Costume was pretty easy to put together.

I found an awesome clown like hat at the Halloween store. The pants I found at the goodwill. I bought pants that were a size bigger so I would have room to move all night. I also rolled the pant legs up and stitched them so they were short pants. I bought a pair of striped knee high socks and some suspenders (you can find these almost anywhere.) Colors don’t matter much, it’s up to you and what you like or what is available. Shoes can be whatever you like. I had to wear my work shoes.

For the tee shirt, I just bought a plain white one from Hobby Lobby. To paint the babies’ costume, I put the shirt on and with a pen I marked the top and sides of my belly so I’d know where to draw. I cut out a circle of paper that fit on the space that I marked, and drew a draft of what I wanted the baby to look like. Once I finished the drawing I cut it a part to use it as a stencil. I traced it all on and painted it to match my outfit.

This costume cost about $15 and was a big hit!

I was 7 months pregnant, and had a grand idea for a unique Halloween costume. I decided to paint my belly as a watermelon. Then I found some vines and sprayed hot pink streaks in my hair. Everyone thought it was a shirt until they touched it!

It took a little bit of time to do that morning, but this won me the costume contest at work. When asked what I was, I said, "Remember how when you were little your mother told you not to swallow the watermelon seeds ... well, then I pointed at my belly."

This Homemade Pregnant Watermelon Costume was a hit and pretty easy, although time consuming to maneuver and paint it myself. You could get someone to help. I can remember I got a boot put on my car that day and had to go pay my parking tickets dressed like that. It was fun.

Well, I was almost 38 weeks pregnant and came up with the idea after everyone always telling me - you just have a basketball in there... that's it, just a basketball belly. So it was real easy to come up with this one. Plus, I really didn't want to do the obvious same 'ol pregnant costumes.

So I went to a few thrift stores and snagged some great finds - the shoes were an unbelievable find: they are actually wrestling shoes found at a Goodwill for just a few bucks AND they are size 9 - perfect and just meant for me!

My husband measured my belly and cut a hole in the jersey, my husband painted my belly (very well, I might add) and BAM! Pregnant lady incognito as Mrs Basketball Player! I went into labor the next day!

Cute idea, I think that even as an expecting mother you should still be able to "dress" your little one up even though he/she is still in the oven!

Coolest Homemade Baby Escaping Pregnant Belly Costume 30

Homemade Baby Escaping Pregnant Belly Costume

Homemade Baby Escaping Pregnant Belly Costume

I was about 6 months pregnant on Halloween, so my husband decided that the coolest homemade costume would be one that made it look like the baby was trying to escape from the womb! We took the arm from an old baby doll and duct taped it to my belly. Then, he added fake skin around the tape to make it look more realistic. Finally, he added the red makeup on the arm and the surrounding area of my belly to give the impression that the baby ripped completely through the belly causing blood!

This Homemade Baby Escaping Pregnant Belly Costume has to be the most creative maternity Halloween costume ever made! Some may find it disturbing, but I think it was humorous and creative.
