For the Pocahontas costume, I took a large men’s T-shirt and cut fringes into the bottom and one sleeve off the side. For John Smith, we just bought large blue slacks, a light blue button-up, and a slightly darker blue button-up to put over the top with no sleeves.
We all some what resemble a Disney princess so we decided we HAD to do it. Most of our costumes were things that we already had. So we spent ultimately nothing! I bought a simple tan dress at the Goodwill store for this Pocahontas costume ($7). Cut of one shoulder strap, measured and sewed to fit me.
