I am a Fashion School drop out BUT, it doesnt keep me from "tinkering" around the sewing machine every once in awhile!. I LOVE designing and creating my own costumes for Halloween and my husband of 2 years is actually starting to let me take creative control over his Halloween costumes. The costume I made him was Captain Hook. My 1 year old son is Peter Pan. With my Tinkerbell costume I wanted to sort of create something that was more form fitting for myself because, I'm obviously not as slender and slim as Tinkerbell, so I made the original design of her dress and drapped a sheer glittery (or as I like to call it Pixie Dusty) fabric over it. Making it seem as if Tinkerbell is going to prom. LOL.
I had a blonde wig from my costume last year (Alice in Wonderland) in my closet that I styled into a bun and wings I bought at "spirit Halloween". I know Halloween is tommorow but I am still working on the shoes for my costume. I usually make my own patterns for clothes so that I know I have an "original Design" but I have to admit that for this year I wish I would have used one AT LEAST for my husband's Captain Hook coat, hat and pants. Men's wear is not my favorite but I got through it and saved the day by making him stand in my sewing room for hours as a live dress form hahah!.
Hope you all like these Homemade "Peter Pan" Characters Costumes. If you didn't already catch our plan. We plan to dress like Disney characters from movies and cartoons for the next couple of years!. We are HUGE Disney fans.

The girls at work and I decided to do a Homemade Peter Pan Group Costume. We all made our own costumes, I am Captain Hook. For Tinkerbell, she made a small green dress and attached fairy wings. For Peter Pan she simply wore green tights and sewed a basic shirt, hat and booties.
For the lost boy we took an old cap from a hair dryer and added a skunk stripe and applied makeup. For Captain Hook I wore a purchased hat, hook and wig. The coat was purchased at a thrift store and I embellished it with gold buttons and trim.
For the pirate shirt I used the ruffles from a curtain and sewed them to the shirt. The sash is just plain old fabric. The boots were actually made from a pair of clogs, some scrap leather, and some shoe laces. Yes I am a woman but I fooled a lot of people that day.
For Wendy I got a long nightgown and curled my hair. Peter was a green shirt, green pants, fake plastic leaves sewn all over the costume, green tights,a wooden sword, a piece of rope for a belt and lots of spray glitter!
I chapped up the edges of Peters costume since he is a lost boy.
Peter Pan and Wendy costume was easy and fun, total cost $30
