Every year Halloween comes around and I never know what to be! Recently I have been a little bit obsessive with peacocks because I think they are beautiful. So one day it came to me and I decided to be a sexy peacock for Halloween.
I really got into making this Peacock DIY Halloween Costume. At first I searched for a lot of images on Google and they all really inspired me. I went shopping at the mall to find pieces of clothing that could resemble what I saw in other pictures. I found the black skirt at Forever 21. As soon as I saw it I knew I had to get it. It was black and had layers of ruffles and lace.
I knew that I also wanted a black corset to attach the feathers to. I found the corset that zipped down the front at Charlotte ruse. I purchased the feathers at Micheal's, I actually had to make two trips there because I didn't buy enough feathers the first time.
I trimmed and cut the feathers and attached them with hot glue. I also bought feather accents to put on the back and at the bottom of the front. For the fan of feathers in the back I just glued them together then glued it on the back.
I also purchased peacock earnings at Forever 21. I bought peacock colored eyeshadow and fake lashes to complete the look. I also wore shimmery grey pumps. I had a lot of fun making it and I received so many compliments everyone loved it! It was a total success!
I started this October out with numerous different ideas...GaGa, Katy Perry, Queen of Hearts. I just couldn't decide what I wanted to be. My goal was to win my work Halloween costume contest (which I did!). I first went with Queen of Hearts and while searching for accessories I came across Peacock Wings (which seems odd...because Peacock's don't have wings) but it gave me inspiration. I became obsessed and googled Peacock Costumes. I came across so many good ones and decided I would make my own Homemade Peacock DIY Halloween Costume rather than purchase the cheesy one with the foam tail sold at most Halloween stores.
It was a huge hit! I have worn it to three parties and everyone could not believe I made the whole thing! I crafted up two nosew tutu's, covered a corset in feathers, adorned my shoes with feathers, made feather earrings, and a peacock tail. Overall there are 100+ feathers in my costume (peacock feathers also sewn into my tutu).

It all started about a week ago. Me, and my friend were sitting around the table, doing the norm. Suddenly we decided a costume was needed. We were going to be hitting up all the major clubs in AC, getting crazy in NYC, and a standard costume was not gonna cut it. Of course, being the beautiful smart girls we are, we had a few ideas. After realizing a horse suit would lose its flair after the initial entrance/shock, we thought hey, lets be Sexy Peacock Costumes.
Shortly after, we were raging through the malls and the entire peacocking section of Michaels. A glue gun, a plan, and we were off. We shook our tail feathers, flapped our wings, and peacock swagged the night away.
Yes, we got compliments. Yes, girls were jealous. Yes, you can steal our idea for next year.
Enjoy this picture and vote for us, because hey, Peacocking ain't easy.
This is my fabulous Peacock Adult Halloween Costume Idea:!
I bought a black corset and covered it in black feathers, then I went over the black feather with peacock feathers! The head piece is a comb with black feathers at the bottom and peacock feathers at the top. The back part is ribbon, sparkly feathers, teal and royal blue normal feathers and more peacock feathers! I glued all of that to a chunk of cardboard and glued it to my skirt. (I used a glue gun for almost everything!)
My friend was a flamingo and we did almost the same thing just with pink feathers!
