We went to Lowes and got 2 4'x8' foam core insulation boards. Also asked for a donation of a refrigerator box for the spine. Got some yellow spray paint ( I think we went through 4 cans) and red felt. I had a scrap of black fabric at the house for the eyes.
Cut your circle, we made 4x 4' circles. Cut a triangle for the mouth. Make a spine the width of your shoulders with a long cardboard strip. We used a refrigerator box and it made it all the way around. Leave opening for legs. Duct tape everything together. Cut circles for your arms. To get the right height we put them on and poked out from the inside with a knife where they should be.
Then traced an oxyclean bucket for the size. Spray paint. Add felt and cloth with adhesive spray. The bow I made out of extra foam core.
For Ms. Pacman I bought a pair of yellow tights and red gloves. Made boot covers with window block fabric and spray painted red. I bought a 5x white shirt at Walmart and refashioned it to a dress and dyed it yellow. We bought a white long sleeve shirt for my husband and dyed that yellow.
Watch out. The Homemade Pacman and Ms. Pacman Costume probably won't fit in your car even if its a station wagon. So try not to make them when you have to drive a long distance.
My friends and I decided to dress in a Homemade Ms. Pacman and Ghosts Group Costume. I was Ms. Pac man & my 3 friends were ghosts. As long as you have 1-4 friends, you will have enough "ghosts".
ALL I used was 2 regular sized poster board for each costume. So, 2 yellow and each ghost you need one poster board the color of the ghost and blue poster board for as many ghosts you use. I made them so I could chase them too when they were blue! I just looked at some old Ms Pac Man and ghosts pictures and used a ruler to do a perfect ghost. Then I laid that one on top of all the other poster boards but the yellow ones, and cut them all out at once! Then I drew Ms Pac Man and traced on the 2nd piece of yellow paper. I used scrap paper for the details of the eyes, mouths, bow etc. I used black yarn to tie to each side poster board and tied them to fit over each person having a poster board on each side. We all wore black under them.
My brother and I made this Pac Man Group Costume from cardboard boxes and spray paint. First we drew a grid of pixels on the cardboard and then traced the actual dimensions pixel by pixel of the ghosts and Pac Man onto the cardboard. We then cut out 2 pieces per costume and spray painted them to match PacMan, Inky, Blinky, Pinky, and Clyde.
Then we painted the second side of the ghosts the blue color they turn when Pac Man can eat them. This gives the effect that when you turn your back to someone you see the blue side and when you face the front you see the colored side.
We made shoulder straps out of elastic strips and secured them on the tops of the costumes. We also put the elastic straps between the two pieces of cardboard on each costume to prevent them from flapping around when you walk. Lastly, we wore all black.

This Homemade Pac Man Halloween Costume was easy to make although was a bit time consuming. I gathered all the cardboard I could find and cut out 2 large 3/4 circles. Then I joined the Pacman shaped sides to a long strip of cardboard using string, zipties and duct tape, which made it 3 dimensional.
I spray painted the shell yellow then cut another strip of cardboard, and spray painted that black to fill in the mouth. I then cut holes for my legs and upper body. I used black tape to make eyes and pieces of strings to make straps to hold it up. And voila!

My friends and I had no clue what we wanted to be for Halloween, until one day the Pacman group costume idea popped into our minds.
We made our costumes out of felt, and we made them dress length so we wore black tights and black shoes. The felt colors that we used were red, orange, yellow, pink, blue, black and white. The process to make the costumes was very simple.
We always have a Halloween dress up day at school, and we came in our costumes and got second place in the competition! We also got so many compliments!
