I got this homemade butcher optical illusion Halloween costume idea from a couple of costumes off this website. I used chicken wire to make a torso, then arms, then shoulders, then the neck. I bought a scary mask and molded some chicken wire and paper towels to fill out his face. I also bought a flannel shirt and the overalls. I cut the overalls just above the zipper so I could slide them on and still use the restroom.

I used an old rubber maid tub and cut the back off. I cut the legs off of some old pants and stuffed them with packing foam and wrapped that in old towels. I wired the legs to the inside of the tub making them hang over as if my own. I got sausage casings and filled them with cotton and covered them with fake blood and let sit over night to dry. I put some fake scabs and blood all over me and sprayed fake blood all over the tub, me, and the ghoul. A couple of hidden straps that went around my waist and over my shoulders and a pole inside his body and stuck in my back pocket kept him in perfect position.

It took me about 13-14 hours to make and with some help, about 25-30 minutes to get on. It was the hit of the party. I had about 5 people actually ask me who was carrying me. It looked fantastic!!

Coolest Princess Bed Costume

Coolest Princess Bed Costume

Coolest Princess Bed Costume

The Princess Bed Costume idea came to me when I saw the canopy hanging at a local thrift store. To make the whole thing cost $13. I cut out a whole in the box and made straps to hang on shoulders out of the material used to cover the box. I then attached material I also picked up at the thrift store with duct tape. Also used an old bed sheet.

Attached lil book and my pony. Wore pjs and slippers. The canopy was the hard part. But after searching the internet I got the idea to use a back pack. Used a metal pole from backyard (lantern pole), drilled a whole in a piece of wood so it wouldn't tear through the bag. Then stuffed the bag with a pillow. Taped some cardboard along pole so it would stay up straight inside the bag, cut a small hole in center of canopy then taped the excess material at top, which held it together. The night stand happened to be a co-worker.

Coolest Mom and Baby Illusion Costume 2

Homemade Mom and Baby Illusion Costume

Homemade Mom and Baby Illusion Costume

I made this Homemade Mom and Baby Illusion Costume for my daughter. It gives the illusion of a mom carrying her baby in a front carry pack. You are the baby and your arms are the mom's arms.

I started with a frame made from wire coat hangers. padded them with foam for comfort. I used a Styrofoam wig head with a plastic mask glued to the front of it. Glued a wig to the top. Put a turtle neck on the mom. I stuffed a baby sleeper with batting for the baby's body and used baby socks for hands and feet.

I put the body into a front carry pack and put it around the mom's neck. Put a baby bonnet on her, had to make one couldn't find one large enough. Your face comes out through the front of the mom's dress.
