Monster Abduction Costume

Monster Abduction Costume

My daughter wanted to be anything that would include a person holding her! So I began to think. We had a scream costume from years past. Firstly, for her, she wore a top to a pajama outfit. the legs I made them from PVC pipe, stuffing pantyhose and slipped her pajama bottoms over it. To attach it to her we used a belt and duct taped it to the fake legs and fastened around backwards on her.

For the monster we took a tote lid and two straps to put over her shoulders. Cut a slit in the scream robe in the front about where the belly would be and slipped it over the tote lid once she had it on. She then slipped her legs in the slit in front. The legs were attached.

For the head of scream we took a milk carton and duct taped it to the top of the tote lid and then put on the mask as you would a real persons head. Looks difficult but actually wasn't as bad as you think. Didn't cost much since most items were found at home. The new pajamas and the stuffing and PVC pipe for the legs were the only cost in this project. She won first prize in the Halloween costume carnival at school. This makes the second year she has won!

Coolest Optical Illusion Halloween Costume 24

Homemade Bogeyman Under the Bed Halloween Costume

Homemade Bogeyman Under the Bed Halloween Costume

For the back of the costume which is the monster, I made the torso out of Styrofoam. The mask head has a plastic milk jug for stability. The head is attached to the Styrofoam by long thin nail from the rubber mask stuck into the Styrofoam. There is a slit cut midway from the black robe where the torso of the child sticks out. The styrofoam is taped to the child's body. I put a piece of cardboard on the front and back so the tape would not bite in.

The fake legs are pantyhose stuffed with rolled up newspaper and were pinned to the pajama top. I bought the head and black robe from Zellers for apx 25.00 dollars so this was not a huge investment.

You need to make sure the fake legs are not too long as the person will trip over them when walking. My son was the hit of our large townhouse complex for trick or treat.

Coolest Catch Of The Day Costume 6

Catch of the Day Costume

Catch of the Day Costume

For a friend's Halloween party my husband and I dressed up as Catch of the day costume. He was the fisherman and I was the mermaid that he caught!

To make this (the mermaid)costume I suspended a cardboard box to fit around my waist. I bought some shimmery material from the fabric store and I made a pattern for a small tail and bikini top. I stuffed the tail. Sewed on the bikini top and the tail to a white shirt. To decorate the box I attached some netting to the back(to hide my rear end) and I wrote "Catch of the day" on the front. I also wore black pants so my legs were not visible and put on a wig.

For the Fisherman my husband had a pair of rain pants with suspenders and an old man mask. It was the hit of the party!

Hey,

Last year my husband and I were Bonnie and Clyde, I looked on the internet for original photos, and we dressed accordingly. It was great. We won first place. I have been wondering how we were going to top that,

I have found it, my husband and I love to fish, this will be the winner this year. Thanks for sharing this idea:)

how great

Homemade Trashman Illusion Costume

Homemade Trashman Illusion Costume

My Homemade Trashman Illusion Costume is a Ghoulish trash man carrying a trashcan filled with Halloween gory trash, body parts, skeletons, etc. One thing in the can is not supposed to be there, it is ME. It is made from a rubber mask, trash can, old clothes, wire, steel, Halloween party items, stuffing, pillows, hot melt glue, screws, bolts.

It took about 30 hours to build and about 10 minutes to put on.

We spent about $100.00

This optical illusion costume is a variation of the baby in the high chair. It's a nurse holding a newborn which is me. On the back of the scrubs is stenciled "Labor and Delivery".

This is an illusion. The head and upper torso of the fisherman is fake, his legs are my legs. I am the mermaid.
