I made 4 of these masks. The one you see is the second made one that was used as a backup (it was not the best one in my opinion lol). They all started out as pumpkins! I covered them in a healthily layer of paper mache.
Next I took crayola air dry modeling clay to scultp out the eyes and bridge of the nose. I also used it to kinda round the forehead out. Then I paper mached it again. Next I went and got cheesecloth that I soaked in plaster and covered the entire thing twice to give it a good structure.
Finally I took Plaster of Paris and mixed 1/2 a cup of it with water and smoothed it over wetting it down some to get the head shape right. Let each layer dry before wet sanding it down to what you see above. It also glows underblack light around his eyes and nose and mouth but there were no blacklights around.
The suit I bought at the thrift store and altered it to look more like Jack's. Painted the white stripes and sewed tails on it and painted those black as well. The bowtie was made with white pillowcases and coat hangers that were bent to look like Jack's. The bat was made with leftover clay and glued on.

My daughter in her Homemade Sally from Nightmare Before Christmas Costume. We started with a plain dark gray dress from Goodwill. I bought different fabric pieces for the patches like Sally's dress. I couldn't find the exact fabric so I improvised.
The large spots on the teal fabric were done by me with a sharpie. I outlined a glass and filled them in, same for the bright pink fabric, plain fabric, with the bold, black stripes were done by sharpie. I attached the fabric to the dress using a fabric glue. Once they were all on, I added the stitch marks - again with a sharpie.
Sheer white tights, with sharpie stitches drawn on, some striped socks crumpled down and black shoes - all purchased at Goodwill. Love that store for all the cool finds! The stitch marks on her arms and chest were also sharpie, hard to get off, but worth it.
I purchased the rag doll wig which came with pony tails, and just took the rubber bands out so it hung free. Some pale white make up and the signature Sally eyelashes and more stitches on her face, with the red lips, and it was complete!
She looked awesome and since her brother went as Jack it was perfect!
