Homemade Mr. T Halloween Costume

I PIDDY THE FOOL. This homemade Mr. T costume was a BLAST! Everyone stopped and spoke to my son over this costume. A few younger kids didn't know who Mr.T was but the older children and adults loved this costume. My husband and myself were "A" team fans and I guess we have passed this gene on to our 9 year old.

This costume was quick and easy. I purchased a bald cap, various sizes of cording (Clearanced is fine because it will be spray-painted), gold and black spray paint, a feather, brown and black face paint, and a mop refill.

The sponge was spray-painted black then adhered to the bald cap. We took an old clip-on earring and glued a feather to it. The cording was cut in different lengths and spray-painted gold. Brown and black face paint was then applied. The outfit was camo pants and an under armor shirt. A voice recorder with Mr. T captions was carried and it played as he said "Trick-or-Treat". Thanks for reading!

Mr. T Halloween Costume

I made this Mr. T Halloween costume using a bald cap, a sponge cut into a Mohawk, faux fur to make the hair and beard. I then took a foam visor and glued gold rope yarn to it to create the appearance of a think gold necklace. I used brown theatrical make up to change my skin color. I also used gold rope yarn for the bracelets.

The only things not made are the rings and the muscle suit underneath. No one knew who was underneath the costume and I lost a first prize at a local bar because the judges thought I was black.

All total it took about 5 hours to build the hair and chains and I spent about two hours putting on makeup and getting everything perfect.

I had a work Christmas party to go to, and the Theme was Black and Gold, and it doesn't get more Black and Gold than Mr T!

This was made with a red long sleeve T-shirt, army camo trousers, pistol belt, 30 meters of gold rope sprayed gold, and a few cheap gold chains bought off eBay. I used Brown face paint and a swimming cap with black felt glued on the sides and the Mohawk made from upholstery foam wrapped in black felt and stitched and glued to the swimming cap. Swimming caps are better to use than bald caps because you get a tighter fit, so there is no ridge.

Homemade Mr. T Costume

I live in Cologne, the central point of the German Carneval. This season my friends and I threw a costume party. Everybody had to dress up like a star of TV series.

So I had the idea of a B.A. Baracus Costume. I bought a lot of fake gold items and - really - cut my hair. It wasn't that easy, but the trouble was worth it.

A lot of my friends didn't identify in my Mr. T Costume and I was nearly on every photo that was shot at this evening.

Whole costume cost less then 60 bucks. Lots of makeup and fake hair to put on though. Took over an hour to get dressed.
