Coolest Gold Digger Costume

Gold Digger Costume

Gold Digger Costume

For Halloween I wore a Gold Digger costume, hence the gold costume and the construction worker hat and shovel. At the same time, I was trying to portray a gold-digging female who wants money!

This costume was a hit! Everyone loved it. I bought a gold dress from a fashion store, a construction worker hat and shovel. I gathered as much gold costume jewelery I could find in my house and put it on. I just had to spray paint the construction worker hat and shovel to make them gold. It was a very comfortable costume and one that was not too over sized or tight. It was just right and it definitely brought the idea across!

You should try it! There is nothing to lose, except maybe for a future date, if you know what I mean. But hey, it works very well!! Give it a try and tell me how it goes!

Cost: $15 (Because of the gold dress, but you could use another piece of clothing).

I did the something similar last year. I bought a gold sequined top and gold pants from a resale store. Painted my shovel gold and had huge gold and "diamond" hoop earrings. I did not win the contest at the local bar, but I definitely was a hit. It was a blast.

I need that shovel!

Hey! Where did you buy that shovel from? I need a shovel and can't find a small one that is portable all night!

I did the same costume two years ago and used a kitty litter scooper for the shovel! It was the perfect size and plastic so it was super light to carry around. I duct taped the shovel where there are slots, taped some rolled up newspaper to the top to make a horizontal handle, and spray painted the whole thing gold. Looked great!

Coolest Swamp Monster Costume 11

Homemade Swamp Monster Costume

I created this Homemade Swamp Monster Costume from recycled clothes (my favorite material being old jeans!). I used old Pj's as the base for the costume, then cut LOTs and LOTs of individual scales from jeans and glued them on the Pj's. I then painted each scale with green paint and a touch of black and white for highlights. I made the head piece from a bald cap that I altered by putting the fin and scales on it. I made the fin out of old jeans, sewed it together, and sewed it onto the bald cap. The swamp hands and feet were also made from old jeans that I sewed together and painted.

Last but not least, the tail was made from jeans and stuffed with old clothes then sewn onto the pants. This took me a couple of weeks to construct, but was defintely worth it! I love knowing no one else will have a costume like my son's!

Lucas wanted to be a monster truck for Halloween: Grave Digger to be exact. He didn't like the one that could be purchased online so we decided to make our own. We got lots of homemade Grave Digger Monster Truck Halloween costume ideas from your website and others to create our monster truck!

We used foam board for the 4 sides, we painted the graphics, added working headlights (with stick-on lights that are battery operated), reflectors for tail lights, a Grave Digger license plate and flag, a hood (pizza box) that opens to reveal a picture of an engine, and a steering wheel that came from his 4th Birthday cake!

And what is a monster truck without over-sized tires!! They were made of trash bags stuffed with newspaper and a styrofoam circle. It looked just like the real thing! Lucas was the happiest little boy this Halloween with his Grave Digger costume!!!

Great Job!

This looks great!! Good idea with the pizza box for the hood. I made the one that's under 'TRUCKS' for my nephew a few years back. Their happiness is well worth the frustration!
Well done! :)

Awesome!
