I made this Homemade Mickey and Minnie Mouse Couple Costume using inexpensive black and red fabric. The pants are just simple elastic red pants with two large buttons sowed in front. The dress is a ¾ circle dress with a zipper on the back. I used fabric paint to add the polka dots on the fabric. I also used fabric paint for the black lines on the gloves. I wore a tight black shirt under the dress to make the arms look black.
For the ears I used a thin headband, and then with a hot glue gun, I attached some circle cardboard ears, that had a little piece of the bottom cut off to follow the shape of the head, so they would fit more snuggly. Then I spray painted them all black. For the bows I put some newspaper inside to make them a little stiffer and keep them from drooping. The Mickey bow is attached around the neck using a safety pin.

I started by buying a red bra and covered it with red with white polka dot fabric. I bought stretchy red sequins (about 1 1/2 inch width)and sewed along the bra. I tied thick black ribbon in a bow and pinned it in the center.
For the skirt I pleated the bottom of the skirt with a sewing machine and iron.(and lots of pins!) and sewed it to the top part. I added a zipper for closure. It isn't stretchy so if i gain any weight it prob wont fit! I added lace around the skirt and sewed it loosely.
I bought tights, ears, and shoes at the local mall. The costume was very time consuming but well worth it. I got lots of compliments and i love the fact that no one else has the same costume! I also wore a lot of glitter to glam it up a bit!
My son (as is every 3 year old) is a huge Mickey Mouse fan. He loved being Mickey. It was so easy to put together too. I lucked out finding the red bloomers at a thrift store. I just sewed a couple of HUGE white buttons on the front and a Dollar store tail on the back. I bought him a pair of generic crocs for shoes and spray painted them yellow. The ears were bought as well at the Dollar store. I found the long sleeve underarmor shirt and tights at Target. I pained his little pug nose black with liquid eyeliner so it wouldn't smear and that was it.
This Homemade Mickey Mouse Costume is so easy and he looked adorable!
This Homemade Mickey Mouse Costume was a fairly easy one.
I bought black tights and a black turtle neck. I then found some red shorts and sewed some white buttons on them. I found some old clown shoes I painted the perfect yellow. I got the over sized cartoon gloves and made Mickey ears and attached to a headband.
I impressed myself with this one because she really looked like Mickey Mouse, was pretty hard to duplicate. Don't forget the tail.
