Homemade Slam and Michael Jackson Halloween Costumes
My kids love to dance to Michael Jackson and pretend to have a guitar like Slam. So when Halloween came they naturally wanted Homemade Slam and Michael Jackson Halloween Costumes. I couldn't find the costumes in the store so I decided to make them.
I made Michael's jacket, glove, hat and hair, socks and added glitter fabric to the pants and darken his eyebrows, we had the headset. I took a old shirt, glove and pants and added black and white sequence to form all the cloths. I bought a hat and cut it to fit my son head and added hair and curled it to look like Michael Jackson. Eye liner is all I used to darken the eyebrows.
Slam, I made the leather pants, leather vest, hat and hair, bracelet and bought him a guitar and necklace and darkened his eyebrows. I made the leather vest and the pants out of an old leather coat I had. Then I made the bracelet with an old belt and added the rest of the links to the vest and pants. Also I glued the hair on the hat and curled it to look like his and the guitar came from 7/11. You can fill it with juice. I figured I can fill it for Halloween.
They love their costume and now they can dress up when they dance.

Homemade Michael Jackson 1993 Superbowl Halftime Show Costume
My son has enjoyed Michael Jackson's music for at least a year now. We knew this would be his choice for a costume this year but the tough decision was which ensemble to do. While watching the youtube video of the 1993 Superbowl Halftime show when Michael performed a few of his songs for the fans at the game, my son decided on a Homemade Michael Jackson 1993 Superbowl Halftime Show Costume.
The hat, glasses, and gloves were purchased as a set from Target. The kit also came with a wig but we chose to use one that we had for a different costume. The jacket, pants and belts were found at our local thrift store. The belts around his waist were black so I used hot glue and glitter to make them gold. I used gold embossing powder on black buttons for the pants. The glove he wore on his right hand was made by cutting a white sweatshirt then using gold puffy paint to appear as buttons.
Cost of the Michael Jackson 1993 Superbowl Halftime show costume: $35, time spent: 3 hours (glitter on the waist belts took forever).
Seeing him doing the Moonwalk all night was priceless!
For my son's Michael Jackson's costume I found an old leather jacket and some velvet pants at my local thrift store, jazzed up the jacket with some safety pins and glitter glue. I sewed some ribbon down the sides of the pants. I found the wig and glasses at Spirit Halloween Store and voila! Can't miss the Michael Jackson glove, $1 at Wal-Mart (in the little kids section), jazzed with glitter glue.
Don't forget about the socks (also jazzed w/ glitter glue) and black dress loafers (my son already had them available because of the holidays). Everyone's raving about Michael Jackson! I probably spent about $25 total for this original and fun costume!
The Homemade Michael Jackson LIVES Costume was homemade by my mother. She just put black sequences on the jacket, spray painted shoes, bought a wig, sequenced a shirt, and got a hat! Then put it together on my son!
