I am MEDUSA in this picture. This do it yourself Medusa Halloween costume took me about 6 1/2 hours total to do. I have colored viper contacts in my eyes and have my body covered in green latex with a fabric called "tool" underneath it to give it that scaley effect of a snake.
My wig is just a black wig which i cut mid-length. and I attached snakes in my wig for the look. The wig took a lot of time and hard thinking due to the snakes not wanting to stay on. But i got a lot of it just in the nick of time =]. I bought the actual clothing online for a cheap price but I designed how my whole body would look and give that special Medusa effect.
If you go to actual Greek mythology I am very close to what Medusa would of looked like besides the fact I cant turn men into stone.. lol But Greek mythology states that her hair was not just snakes - but hair with snakes coming out of it she had scaley skin such as a snake would and she had armor. So I think I did pretty good, I hope you Enjoy and thanks for looking !!

This year I decided to be Medusa, the Greek Goddess from Greek Mythology. I did not want to use the store bought costume. They all look too much the same and not unique enough, so I made my own Homemade Medusa Costume.
I found material that looked like reptile skin. It was dark green with the texture that looked as if it came off a snake. I made an outfit as a one piece dress from that material I found. Attached to the back of the dress, I had a tail to replicate the tail of a snake. I purchased a cheap wig with curls and attached some gold flexible snakes to the curls on the wig, then painted the whole wig and snakes to give a more realistic look. I cut some fishnet stockings to size over my arms and face to also replicate snake skin look.
I purchased and painted liquid latex over the fishnet stockings to give it a more realistic look. I also purchased contact lenses to give the overall effect of "MEDUSA".
I hope you like the outcome, I tried to be as creative as I could on this costume.
This Homemade Medusa Halloween Costume was crafted from a foam construction hat and a sheet of foam felt. The snakes were added one by one with gorilla glue. Each was pinned in place until the glue dried. Small snakes were hot glued to the tiara. Headpiece was primed with white spray paint.
The tiara was sprayed gold and masked with paper to paint the rest of the headpiece green. The tongues were then painted red. The tiara was then coated with white glue and glittered. Long snakes were painted gold to wrap about collar. Green skin paint was applied to arms neck and chest before dressing. Top of dress was painted gold to match.
