Homemade McDonald's Characters Group Costume

Homemade McDonald's Characters Group Costume

We decided to make this Homemade McDonald's Characters Group Costume this year for a friend's costume party. After going through several group costume ideas, we all fell in love with the idea of making costumes from our favorite childhood restaurant. I made my boyfriend's Grimace costume with felt, a hula hood, and safety pins. I made the Hamburglar costume with black and white striped fabric and made the cape from black fabric along with the big triangle tie. The French fry box was made with cardboard and spray paint (a lot of spray paint) along with glue. My Ronald McDonald costume was made with red/white-striped fabric and bright yellow satin for a skirt.

I made the patterns from clothes that we already had but free handed it since the fabrics weren't very expensive. The whole process was easy and after I sewed the pieces together we were ready to go. We even went to McDonalds!

Ronald McDonald Costume

This is a twist on a Ronald McDonald costume. The costume was super easy to make and very affordable. All the clothes were bought at the goodwill and then spray painted. It consists of a suit vest, khakis, and a white collared shirt that went underneath which was taped with duct tape and then spray painted. We also bought some inexpensive boat shoes at Walmart and spray painted them red. And a "Dark night" Joker face to top it off! Super proud of the results!

Homemade McDonalds Hamburgler Costume

This McDonalds Hamburgler Costume was a pretty simple costume this past year for me.

Jail/Prisoner Outfit:
1 Red Pillow Case, Iron On Transfers, Yellow Ribbon and red chucks. Simply cut out a tie, print out cheesebugers on the iron ons, iron onto red pillow case tie, cut out a cape, find a Zorro hat, glue yellow ribbon around the top and have Mcdonalds for dinner so you have the bag.

A pair of red winter gloves and red shoes and your all set!

Officer Big Mac and Hamburglar Costume

Officer Big Mac and Hamburglar Costume

Hamburglar(ette) was a pretty simple costume with a jail outfit and a cape. But, the real challenge for Officer Big mac was creating the head.

We basically built a huge BigMac Pillow from felt and stuffing around a reinforced baseball cap. The result was great!! Especially since people didn't really know who Officer Big Mac was...love obscure characters!
