Homemade Mario Kart Character Group Costumes
Mario, Princess Toadstool, Toad, Toadette, Wario, and King Boo battle it out on the streets of Honolulu. Not an original concept, but we like to think the execution was a success. For the most part, the characters were easy to recreate. Creativity played a role in making the spherical shape of King Boo, Toad, and Toadstool. For the large sphere that is King Boo’s body, I used paper mache to cover an inflated beach ball.
After eight or nine layers it was strong enough to cut holes for my head, body and arms. I wore a golden mask to represent the King’s crown. His face was drawn on with a sharpie and tongue was cut from felt. The same basic principle was used for Toad and Toadette’s mushroom cap hats. Instead it was Japanese lamps under the paper mache. We’ve seen other cart designs all over the internet. We crafted realistic looking carts using cardboard, paper tubes, felt, and aluminum foil. All this held together by hot glue and tape. Assembly took place on the day of Halloween and we barely made it out on time. Glue was still drying in transport. At a busy block party in downtown Honolulu we were met with much praise and many photo requests, making all the stress and frustration of crafting these Homemade Mario Kart Character Group Costumes disappear.

Homemade Mario, Luigi, and Yoshi Family Costume
One of my children’s favorite video games is Mario Brothers, so that’s what they wanted to be for Halloween. The Homemade Mario, Luigi, and Yoshi Family Costume is pretty much the same, the only difference is the colors:
Mario: red turtle neck and red baseball cap with the letter “M” Luigi: green turtleneck and green baseball cap with the letter “L”
I found overalls at a local second hand store and altered them to fit each lengthwise. Yellow felt was used for the buttons, which just covered up the original fasteners. The letters were made using felt in coordinating colors, with a white felt circle to cover up the logos on the baseball caps.
Mario and Luigi both wore white winter gloves. Their mustaches and eyebrows were painted on using black Halloween make-up and both wore brown leather boots.
Yoshi was constructed using a jogging suit. I had no luck finding a green one so I bought a pastel color and dyed it. I dyed the suit 5 times before I got the right color green. Eyes, nostrils, spikes, shell, underbelly, and tail were constructed using felt. The nose was made using green fabric filled with batting.
To complete the costume Yoshi wore brown tennis shoes! This Homemade Mario, Luigi, and Yoshi Family Costume was fun to put together and a great family project!

Coolest Homemade Mario, Luigi and Princess Daisy Costumes 46
Homemade Mario, Luigi and Princess Daisy Costumes
These Mario, Luigi and Princess Daisy Costumes are "put together". I added things to purchased items. For example: I bought the caps and just added (painted) the M for Mario and the L for Luigi. Also, the dress was something I already had, so I decided to "make" it into princess Daisy. I removed all the details the dress had until it became a yellow shell and then I sewed the orange material.
I did hand make the crown (hot glue a golden foam sheet and cut it into shape). Add the accessories and a red-head wig and hello, it's done. This was so easy because I just worked with already made things, but it has a hit.
This is a Homemade Mario Kart Group Costume with our favorite characters, Princess Peach, Luigi, Mario and Waluigi. The karts are painted and crafted from kids' go-karts. Props such as lighting bolts are a must to stop your opponent.
