Homemade Zombie Marilyn Monroe and James Dean Costumes

This Halloween, my boyfriend and I dressed up as Zombie Marilyn Monroe and James Dean.

Although our Homemade Zombie Marilyn Monroe and James Dean Costumes weren't completely handmade, I feel that our idea was really original and I did design and create all of the make-up effects and hairstyles.

I purchased a white dress for my costume, and we assembled my boyfriend's one with a pair of tight Levis, a white T-shirt that we covered in fake blood and a pleather jacket. We also both wore white contact lenses.

The real fun came in the make-up. We splatted effects on his arms, face, and dripped and splayed the blood all over his T-shirt). Because James Dean died in a car crash, I gave him lots of scratches, abrasions and a huge nosebleed.

Marilyn died from a pill overdose, so I smeared her normally perfect red lipstick and added a few gross vomit effects on the side of my mouth and dribbling down the back of one hand. Our combined make-up time was 4 hours.

For my hair, I used a styled blonde wig and added my own blonde extensions to the front with spirit gum to hide the seam of the wig.

Wishing to stay in the character of our 'Zombies' Halloween Night costumes, my boyfriend carried around pop-eye candy cigarettes and I popped sweet tarts from a medicine bottle from my purse.

These are perfect. Kudos!

pill overdose?

Great idea though there's evidence otherwise to believe she didn't die of a pill overdose. Read up on her its pretty sad, but according tp the book I read pills were not the cause

Homemade Departed Marilyn Monroe Costume

A few years ago, I dressed up as Marilyn Monroe for a fancy dress party. The costume stayed lost at the back of my wardrobe until I was invited to a zombie-themed party in the run-up to Halloween. Instead of zombifying myself, I decided to go as an 'undead' Marilyn.

I did my make up exactly the same as hers (except with very pale foundation) then I drew huge dark circles under my eyes and blended it in well. Using some blue face paint, I drew on lots of veins over my chest and arms.

Next came the blood! for a really gross out effect, I painted on liquid latex in patches then peeled it off when it was dry so it looked like my skin was falling off. To finish, I covered the wounds and the dress in fake blood.

This Homemade Departed Marilyn Monroe Costume was so quick and easy to put together and a great way to beat the credit crunch and recycle. I got so many people coming up to me and complimenting me, and managed to gross out a fair few too!

Coolest Marylin Monroe Costume

Me As Maryln Monroe

Me As Maryln Monroe

I went on an art trip with my school to Castle Toward. When we arrived there I was told that we had to think up and make a fancy dress costume for the "last night party" and that on our last day we would have 3 hours to buy the materials needed, make the costumes and get ready for the night ahead.

So a few friends and I walked around Danoon town center (in Scotland) for a while where I bought a bed sheet from Woolworths and some safety pins before heading back to my room and fashioning this Marilyn Monroe costume. I had 30mins to get ready and within this time I cut the sheet to shape, pinned it all together and made a strap belt for around my waist.

I still have the ‘dress’ in my wardrobe and plan on wearing it this Halloween.

There are two other people required to make my costume work. I chose to be Marilyn Monroe. My best friend was Jackie Kennedy and my boy friend was JFK. For my outfit I cut and adjusted an old prom dress to look like one of Marilyn's. I bought a wig and styled it and of course applied all the necessary make-up. For my friend's costume we scoured antique stores and finally were able to come up with bits and pieces here and there that we could put together to make her look like a true Jackie O. Lastly, JFK was easy. Some quaffed hair and a suit.

Hope you like our Homemade Marilyn Monroe Love Triangle Group Costumes.

I was shopping at the thrift store trying to find costume ideas because I hate packaged costumes and I came upon this adorable dress. It was the same style as the famous white dress Marilyn wore but in black and white polka dots, but it worked and I found some cheap jewelry and a wig at a theater store and put it all together and it turned out beautiful.
