Cool Lady Gaga Costumes

I made this Lady Gaga meat dress costume because I wanted something completely different. I don’t know what made me think of the meat dress, but I thought that it would be nice to go out and not have another person wearing the same thing as me. So, I started looking. It’s not all that easy to find Gaga’s meat dress in the store! I decided I could probably make something way nicer and more believable than what the stores would have anyway.

I started with an old red evening gown that I got at a thrift store. It was a halter so I cut off the straps and re-sewed them so they looked more like Gaga’s dress. I cut up the bottom of the dress to look like pieces of meat hanging from it. I saved the other pieces for later. I then used white puffy fabric paint to create the marble streaks that meat has. I brushed it down with an old paintbrush to blend it into the dress.

I grabbed an old makeup bag and then glued the scrap dress pieces to it, and painted it with the white fabric paint that I used on the dress. That was my meat purse. I embellished it with dollar store gems to make a diamond ‘G’ on one side and a design on the other.

I took large scrap dress pieces, painted them the same and hot glued them to old wedge shoes. I then took butcher’s twine to wrap once I had my feet in them.

Funny story… I kind of made a mess of my carpet because one tube of the white paint was clogged, so when the dried up paint came through the tip it exploded everywhere. Needless to say my husband was not impressed..

For the headpiece I painted more scrap dress and hot glued it to a hair clip. Gaga wore a gorgeous diamond choker with her meat dress, but I couldn’t find anything like it so I found cheap cubic zirconia bracelets and glued them to a stretchy hairband. From there I was able to wear it as a thick choker like she had.

I bought a blonde wig and I couldn’t find hair chalk or anything that resembled the sea foam green she had on her ends so I grabbed a blue highlighter and coloured the ends until they were the same colour Gaga had.

I completed my look with fishnets, bright red lips and simple eye makeup.

I got so many looks when I wore this out, and although not everyone could figure out right away what I was, once I said, “Gaga,” they said “Meat dress!!!”  I’m going to wear this one again this year. I absolutely loved it and nailed it. I even had some people ask if it was real meat. :)

I would say the whole thing cost me less than $30. It took me about 3 days to finish. Enjoy making your own Lady Gaga Costumes!

Cool Homemade Lady Gaga Red Lace Dress Costume

So I get a lot of people telling me that I look a lot like Lady Gaga and just so happens that I am huge fan of hers as well…so naturally I had to look for Lady Gaga Costumes for Halloween! I hate store bought costumes and I figure I am going to take the time to make a costume it has to the best I can make it. It took me about one week to make the costume, bought the fabric out in LA, and watched YouTube videos to guide me. In the end I was so happy with how it came out!

We had a huge Halloween party at my house and of course I was still getting ready as my friends had started to arrive but it was cool cause it made my “grand entrance” that much epic! Haha…anyhoo, I was told that my costume was one of the best night and that totally made me happy! The only thing I was bummed about was the fact that I had to wear that awful wig, but  its cool. I didn’t fall in the platform heels I had on and I had tons of fun! Thanks for letting me share and enjoy making your own Lady Gaga costumes!

Best Lady Gaga Bow-Tie Hair Inspired Costume

I love Lady Gaga, I have had the privilege of seeing her in concert twice and loved every moment. Once I saw the Lady Gaga bow-tie hair, I knew it had to be my next Halloween costume. Lady Gaga cosutmes is all about design, shock, costumes, and anything out of the ordinary. I wasn’t sure where to start with the outfit but I came across the flashy top from Wet Seal and thought it would be a great start to work with. From there I found the shorts at Hot Topic which seemed to match perfectly. The sunglasses were specifically Lady Gaga shades which I also purchased from Hot Topic but are available from most Halloween stores or online.

My focus was the bow-tie hair, I find it a lot more realistic using my own hair as much as possible rather then buying a wig. I already have blonde hair but needed to purchase clip-in bangs. My friend is a very talented hair dresser and she created the bow-tie using a sponge which she cut into the shape, she wrapped synthetic hair around it, followed by using bobby pins and hot glue to secure the hair to the sponge.

She wrapped my hair around the bow to secure it to my head and used bobby pins and back combed the hair. I was able to dance all night without the bangs or bow-tie moving at all! My friend also added a very thin multi color hair piece for a little extra bling. The microphone can be purchased at Halloween stores or online as well. I kept my makeup light and simple, I used the Lady Gaga lip glass from MAC makeup that she created.

This was such a fun costume to search for all the pieces to put together, create an image in my mind, and using my hair along with the hair piece my friend made. I received many compliments on my costume that night from friends and people I did not know. I was very happy with the outcome of my Lady Gaga bow-tie inspired costume. Enjoy making your own Lady Gaga Costumes!

Cool Lady Gaga Born This Way Skeleton Costume

I actually bought the Lady Gaga costumes wig at Cards & Parties. The costume was $50 there so I went to the Goodwill and bought the pants, shirt & jacket for $15. The make-up took me about an hour & a half to do (I thought my arms were going to fall off, lol). We all went out for Halloween and the place we went to had a costume contest. I came in 2nd on scariest (the DJ didn’t know what I was supposed to be, lol). A lot of people complimented it, called me Gaga and a couple asked for pictures with me. This was one of my favorite costumes I have done (there are make-up tutorials on youtube).

Coolest Joe Calderon (Lady Gaga) Costume – My Day as a Man!

To come up with an original costume is becoming more and more challenging every year. I have been everything from Peggy Bundy to a lady bug. I have always been very sexy, but this year I decided, let’s step out of the box and go for gold. I chose to look at Lady Gaga costumes and saw her alter ego Joe Calderon” I studied her character on you tube and even received lessons from my 20 year old nephew and husband on how to behave like a man.

They taught me how a man shakes hands, how they walk, even how to hold a beer!  And let me tell you that this costume possessed me, I stayed in complete character all night and even fooled my own brother. Men wanted to beat me up and women wanted to slap me due to my vulgar impressions of Joe. I had to keep reminding people that I was indeed a lady!!! lol.  I really enjoyed this costume because it gave me the opportunity to see things through a mans eyes. I hope that everyone enjoys seeing my transformation.

Coolest Homemade Lady Gaga Hello Kitty Extravaganza Costume

I got tickets to the Lady Gaga Monster Ball tour in 2010. My mom and I made this Lady Gaga Hello Kitty Extravaganza costume together! Starting from early May to the Metero ride on the way to the concert we were working our little butts off! We made many of the Hello Kitties from Hello Kitty T-Shirts to keep the cost lower. At the Lady Gaga concert on Sept. 7th  I got a round of applause from my amazing outfit, I was also picked up by a few news sites! (pretty cool right?).

I also wore it for Halloween that year, Otakon 2012 and to my school on Celebrity day. The second I walked in in my fantastic costume everyone stopped talking, and  now I’m kind of a legend. When I went to Otakon in this I was stopped about every 5 minutes because people wanted my picture, I even got a discount on a Hello Kitty because the man working there got more business from me! A lot of people didn’t realize it was a Lady Gaga dress, they just thought I was supposed to be Hello Kitty. But either way they ate it up! My mom and I are very proud of our hard work and hope you like it!

Cheap and Easy Lady Gaga Halloween Costume

Under $10! This cheap and easy Lady Gaga costumes are so fun to make. This is me on the right. I used one roll of black trash bags and one roll of packaging tape! Started by cutting up strips of trash bags and just taping them onto a flat trash bag. Next I just kept layering these on with tapes to ensure that the skirt was full , fluffy, and dramatic!

The top was simple. I wrapped the trash bags around a tube top that I wore. The only trick to this costume was that it was very disposable, and you couldn’t try it on. I had to literally wait until that night to put it on. All of the shaping was from wrapping the tape around my body! I wore fishnet tights, I tied strips of trash bags around my feet and obviously I wouldn’t be Lady Gaga without using a sharpie to draw on my tatoos!
