I am a huge Hello Kitty and Lady Gaga fan. When the celebrity photography duo Markus Klinko and Indrani showcased their photo shoot on their BRAVO show Double Exposure from the Hello Kitty 35th Anniversary with Lady Gaga, I was hooked! I re-created my own version of the Hello Kitty dress and shoes.
Once I got the idea to re-create this Lady Gaga Hello Kitty Costume, it wasn't easy and it was cheap! I spend an entire month brainstorming and perfecting this costume! I also had to find other options for the shoes, because lip gloss tins were used in the original shoes and would have been so expensive! I found Hello Kitty face cupcake rings and I bought special tools to cut off the ring part so they would glue right on to my shoes.
For the dress I bought different size Hello Kitty dolls and pinned them on a corset type top and two tutus. I am really excited to wear this costume this year on Halloween!! I also made a made a similar costume for my dog with my left over materials and one of my dog's dresses!!

Everyone's saying this Lady Gaga Meat Dress Costume is going to be the most popular costume of the year, right? Well since you can’t buy one...I had to make one! But no way I'm using real meat.
First, I made a corset dress out of red “pleather” vinyl and painted it to look like meat with acrylic. I then made “meat” pieces out of liquid rubber by tinting the mixture red. I scrunched up layers of plastic wrap, layed them on a table and poured the liquid rubber over it to create the meat-like texture. After they set, I attached all the pieces to the pleather with crazy glue. The shoes are a pair of old black boots that I cut off and painted like wrapped up meat. I topped off the look with a piece of rubber meat for a hat, a meat purse, painted wig, and Lady Gaga-esque bling.

For a hair competition at work I decided to make a wig, GAGA inspired of course. I purchased several packs of platinum human weave hair to make it as real as possible. Using a stocking cap I glued on weave hair which had been colored prior to the start. The hair was glued in place going in a circular pattern all around the stocking cap. I hot glued a feather and tulle at the top to create my own hairpiece. I curled the hair with a curling iron and pinned them, sprayed them and let them set for a few days.
On the day of the competition I took them out and styled the wig with a softer yet still funky look. This wig can be washed and restyled easily because I went the extra mile and used the human hair. The effects would not have been the same with synthetic hair.

DIY Lady Gaga Meat Dress Halloween Costume
I wanted to do something very original for Halloween this year, and when Lady Gaga wore the meat dress to the VMA's this year, I thought it was the perfect costume idea.
The DIY Lady Gaga meat dress Halloween costume took me about 3 weeks to finish, working about 1 to 2 hours on it each night. I used red foam to make the meat and then hot glued all the foam to the dress. I am an expert on making fake meat. I even made my shoes out of the red foam and colored my wig with a blue marker. I had a lot of great feedback from my costume and it was a lot of fun to make!
The Lady Gaga Meat Dress Costume was created out of different colors of felt. Layers were glued onto a dress then stitched. The shoes are wrapped in felt and the meat hat is felt stuffed with cotton balls and stitched to a headband. The wig had blue highlights done with marker as well. Ra-ra-ra-ra-ra.
